Check the price on cpap.com and convert to Canadian.

I'd rather get the H4i humidifier if I were you - it holds more water and I don't think there should be much of a price difference.

If this is your first machine and you don't intend to purchase it off craigslist, Kijiji, or from that spooky guy down the street, you will need a prescription. If expecting the $780 benefit from the Ontario ADP, you will be forced to pay about $1400 from an accredited DME for the CPAP machine, humidifier, and a decent mask. This will leave you out of pocket about $600 which is usually claimable though any workplace or private health insurance plan.

There is currently a ResMed Elite II c/w H3i humidifier for sale on Kijiji Toronto from someone in Thornhill asking $750 for the equipment plus two masks that is less than a year old. Based upon their ad, it is apparent that they did receive the ADP relief so their out of pocket cost would be only $600.

Only if you don't have a prescription and don't carry workplace insurance would I suggest that you purchase a used machine. If that sounds like your circumstances, offer $450 and if if you're a lousy negotiator, work your way up to $600 ) Remind the vendor that its unlikely he will receive offers from anyone who hasn't been diagnosed with sleep apnea, therefore just like him, eligible for the ADP grant. That nasal air mask which added $300 to his price may be of no value to you if it even fits your face and while he benefitted from the advice and support from his DME, he's offering a used machine without any support. He doesn't need to know that you've discovered this website which is much superior source of information and support anyway.
