I started cpap about one week after shoulder surgery and 4 days after new medication. Starting getting gas after first night and went 2 more nights (2nd night decent, 3rd night a disaster) before stopping cpap machine. It's now been a full two+ weeks since I am off the cpap machine, and one week since I stopped the new med.
I still have gas and consulted my doctors - they're suggesting gas-x, better eating habits, and giving more time for my stomach to settle down. They said maybe med reaction (3% of users have gas), maybe side effect of anti-biotic during shoulder surgery (3 wks later still there?)
My question - since I've been off the cpap machine for two+weeks, gotta assume the gas isn't from the machine, right? Any gas from cpap would dissipate after a couple of days, max? Reason I ask is because believe it or not, I'd like to get back to using the machine. I now have trouble getting to sleep at night with the gas but have a Rx for ativan (10 days)....
Another gas question
Re: Another gas question
Hi, I would think the gas from the Cpap would of came out in the end by now. It sure sounds like the Meds.

Yea, except off meds for one full week....i think will give it one more day and start cpap on Friday - that way I have weekend to 'recover' if needed!N6CRV wrote:Hi, I would think the gas from the Cpap would of came out in the end by now. It sure sounds like the Meds.
