Hi I use the 431 currently and I find that it shrieks sometimes during the night. I also feel with all the equiptment on my face it is hard to get a full night sleep. I keep waking up. Should I try the Quattro or some other Full Face? Thanks Allan

Yes, absolutely!! Keep trying on masks until you find one that suitably fits your face. This is not a one size fits all siutation. That mask may be squealling if the cushion is not seated correctly. But don't let a mask problem keep you from therapy. Contact your DME and let them know that you need to try another one. If you are self-pay, try cpapauction.com. A lot of people try masks that don't fit and sell them there.
Good luck!!

I got the 432 because it was like, 30 bucks... I've kind of played around with it, and kind of like it but for the most part I'm pretty sure there are better masks out there. I personally like the Mirage Liberty better, but that's mainly because I like the nasal pillows and no bar on my forehead.Rocky1948 wrote:Hi I use the 431 currently and I find that it shrieks sometimes during the night. Tons of masks out there. Not every one of them is for everyone, but there is one out there for you.

SnuggleHose - Got the 8 foot and cut it down to 6, used the rest for mask hoses.
Memory Foam Pillow - Cut my own out of my Tempur-pedic pillow. (works great!)
Hose Mgmt - Velcro Tie Strap

I think the name of this game is keep trying masks until you find the one that works best for you and do not limit yourself to full face or nasal masks. So far I've tried the following masks:
1. ResMed Mirage Liberty
2. ResMed Mirage Quattro
3. Fisher & Paykel Oracle 452 oral mask
4. Probasics Zzz-Mask full-face mask (This works best so far)
5. Innomed Hybrid mask (11/07/08) horrible fit and feel
6. Hans Rudolph 7600 Series V2 Mask
7. Respironics OptiLife Nasal Mask with pillow cushions
8. Probasics Zzz nasal mask
9. ResMed Mirage Vista nasal mask
Tonight I will start my trial of a Respironics ComfortLite 2 nasal maks with a full assortments of cushions and pillows.
Think of finding the right mask as a search for the Holy Grail - good luck.

I have the 432 and found that the chin flap prevented me from getting a constant seal. I currently use the Mirage Liberty, but last week I decided to remove the chin flap from the 432. Used a sharp knife to cut it off and a dremel tool to smooth the edges where I made my cut. While it did seal better for me without the chin flap, I couldn't get used to the full face mask again. I started with the Mirage Quattro and found it to be very comfortable, don't know if I could use it again now or not. I removed the swivel from the Quattro and gave it to one of the guys at work who needed it so I can't try it again right now. Finding the right mask is kind of like trying to find a comfortable pair of shoes. Take a look at what is available on line, cpap.com is an excellent place to start. Reading the reviews of people that have already purchased a particular mask can be of help. You'll find what is right for you and when you do it will be worth the effort.
