Hi,
I saw another topic where someone stated that snoring is a sign that your pressure is too low. I see what I consider to be high VS numbers, but the other numbers look OK. For example, over the past 5 nights, my numbers are:
OA / H / VS
4.2 / 0.8 / 18.6
3.5 / 0.6 / 28.1
2.6 / 0.8 / 28.8
3.1 / 0.0 / 72.0
2.4 / 0.4 / 46.2
On the graphs, the snoring is in clusters, happening about every 60 to 90 minutes. Is this something to be concerned about? I am using BiPAP at pressures of 13 and 19.

Q On Numbers And Snoring
Re: Q On Numbers And Snoring
I don't know anything about that machine or software, so I don't have an answer. This is mostly just a bump of your post. But . . .jweeks wrote:Hi,

Snoring is something that generally should get titrated out if possible. If it is happening every 90 minutes in a cluster, it may have to do with where you are in your sleep cycle. But it may also be a positional thing, so you might try rigging up something for a night or two to keep you off your back and see what that does before addressing the snores with pressure. That may help your OA numbers too, which may be a bit high. Just a thought.

You didn't give us alot of information on how your machine is set up. Is it set up in straight Bi-PAP or Auto Bi-Pap or "what"?jweeks wrote:Hi,

However, on that bit of information, I'd say you might try increasing your EPAP pressure a bit. It might lower your your Apnea numbers and your snoring at the same time.
All things being equal, I would worry more about apnea numbers before snoring numbers. There MAY or MAY NOT be a relationship between the two, but if you work to lower your apneas, the snoring may follow.
Nasal cleansing/rinsing before bedtime helps a great deal, too.
