Devilbiss SmartLink Software Now Available

Post by johnnygoodman » Wed Nov 19, 2008 8:06 pm

Howdy All,

The IntelliPAP Auto now has software that reports all the important stuff: leak, AHI, ave pressure. The IntelliPAP Auto just got a lot more attractive.

More developed product pages and hopefully sample reports coming shortly.

Thanks, Johnny!

I'm sure I'm not the only one looking forward to seeing sample reports if they become available.

I found some sample of reports on DeVilbiss webpage. I have never had reporting software in all my years of use. Could someone that understands this stuff take a look and let me know if they think the software is adequate?

The software looks like it's pretty good, on par with what's needed and what's out there! Too bad their Ad Department, doesn't have a clue on how to merchandise a product. It reminds me of the old Commodore 64 systems, with the machine for the times, it could have sold 4 times as many units, but no-one took advantage of the products features, they just sat it on the shelves and it sold it's self. Businessmen shouldn't be allowed to have guns, they just ruin good shoes. Jim

How about they waste way too much space and paper w/the Patient ID info being all single lines? They could provide the Patient Info two to a line as they did w/the Provider and Referring Physician.
A table similar to EncorePro's Daily Events Per Hour table would be a great addition. (Hint, hint, hint)
They don't make a fully data capable bi-level yet?

Thanks, Johnny, you ARE a peach!!!

Any chance you'd wanna take the time to do the same for printouts of the Puritan Bennett IntelliPAP Sandman download printouts?

It REALLY would be nice to have a "site" w/downloaded printouts from all the fully data capable brands' software so we could see what they look like. (Hint, hint - Hey! Some of us, you give us an inch, we ask for a mile. )

I'm referring to page 2 only:
I like the way the pressure and leak data are presented, the fact we can see the exact hours, and especially, the fact that there's info about the delay too.
I also like the clear way in which the verbal data is presented.

I like very much having the breaths per minute data and the tidal volume data.
I'm amused - curious and hopeful - about the exhale puff - is that really an ability to track mouth leak (slinky's "lip flutters"?)
I'm intrigued by "NI" - what it the world does that stand for?

I notice there an no flow limitation reports, no breathing cycle status, and apparently no ability to make the view more granular. I miss the SL3's (and I think Sandman's) magnifiying glass and crossbar.
I dislike the roughness of the event ticks -

Page 2 of this is perfect. Adding the numbers to each column in the histogram makes the histograms so much easier to read, and putting all those histograms one beneath the other, so you can see the Hours o Usage /AHI /Leak /Pressure relationship on a day by day comparison -- like I said, perfect. And nice of them not to call it compliance.

Silver lining lets you choose the precentage for your "pressure used for XX% of the time". Does this one too?

I miss a "number of events at pressure" and the time spent at each pressure - which can be very informative if put into an Excell chart. It should not be AHI at pressure, unless accompanied by the true number.

Summary of what need works, in ordrer of priority:
Export to Excel
Number of events at pressure and the time spent at each pressure
Tracking and reporting flow limitations
More granular view with:
An ability to see clustered events
An ability to pinpoint specific events and their relation to time of occurence, pressure, and leak

Add type of mask used to nightly data (not to patient data), and have an option of comparing mask results.

Additional important feature

Post by ozij » Sat Nov 22, 2008 1:43 am

I've just though of another feature that I think is very important for troubleshooting beginner's therapy.
As many of us have experienced, our sleep when we start therapy can be very erratic. A miserable toss and turn session of leak-fighting and mask-cussing may register many fake apneas - and mislead everyone about the users needs.

PB has separate 24 hour, and session exports, and lets you focus on sessions on its 96 hour details report. When I know all I did was toss and turn in bed miserably - I will not calculate the results.
I recently has some toss and turn sessions for non-cpap related reasons: Looking at the 24 hour summary you'd think I had an AHI of 5.6, 3.2 of those centrals. Most of that was a result of almost 2 hours tossing, with an unbeleivable AHI of 14.8, 10.5 of which were central - and absolutely none of which happened while I slept.

Now, that of course is a double edged sword.
Our report of "did I sleep did I not sleep" is not always reilable, and we could turn out discounting sessions which simply prove more pressure is necessary. But I think the danger or misreading sleepless sessions - especially when a beginner it adapting to this new way of sleeping - is all in all greater. As a matter of fact, the RT reading my original APAP diagnostic results caused me much misery, and one of the worst headaches in my life by misreading the data, and setting me up with fixed 7.5 cm h20. - which was simply too high.

So the option of tracking data by sesssion, not only by 24 hour period shoud be there too.

O.
