Can't edit my own posts

Post by frapilu » Thu Aug 14, 2008 8:37 am

I agree with sws -- I don't have the edit button on my posts anymore although it was fine last night. I've just check and I'm definitely signed in.

SWS, I use Firefox as well. The edit button worked for me earlier this morning. How long does the "edit" option remain available? (Some forums have a time limit.) Now, the edit option is gone from my post of about 30 minutes ago. I'm going to check and see if it's there for this post.

Pam

EDIT: Yes, it's there for me right after I post. But it's not there for my earlier post of 30 minutes ago.

EDIT 2: And it's there if I log out and log right back in. Maybe it is a time thing? (Or maybe it's fixed now? )

I thought I had seen something like this yesterday, soon after the board was active again. I could not see the edit button at times, but then I did see it once. Now I do not have edit on a previous msg on this thread of yesterday.

Edited: I am using the edit button to edit this soon after posting. Does the edit get removed after a time period? Edit is a very useful function to have, once notices errors in one's posting sometimes long after posting it

To repeat what I believe someone else mentioned, I just noticed that the end-quote "[/quote]" isn't being added to the end of the quoted post when you hit the "Quote" button on a post.

Could you please fix these issues, thank you, MikDee
I think only Registered user can edit their post. Don't think guests are allowed to, so you must login.
I am a registered user, just look above, see ^^^^ and you're an administrator? When I went to post, it showed up as a guest?
Well, That's all gone now, It appears I can't even post at all now!?

I never had a problem here, until yesterdays change
Again I'm now using Firefox just to post here, after trying to log on 4 times previously with Internet Explorer 7
It seems, after I put in my username, & password, it throws up a window that I'm logged in, then the window disappears and it shows I'm not logged in? 4 times!

Firefox eliminates access to my favorite folders, & the text looks like brail, that's Why I don't like it, or use it regularly

I can't be the only one using IE7 on this board? or the only one having trouble logging in with it?
I don't want to be forced into using something, that I wouldn't normally choose to use

Change? Is Obama supporting this site?!?!

So far I've tried to post this twice and was told my user name is in use, please try another. I think when we creatures of habit learn to navigate it will be great. I wonder how the overly sleep deprived will handle it

Yes, I think there must be a time limit (was there one before?), because I just came back on and any post I've made more than about 30 minutes ago doesn't have the "edit" option. I know some forums have a time limit, but I didn't think this one did before. Could be wrong, though.

On the "Quote" thing someone mentioned earlier, it worked find on this quote--it put the [/quote] at the end as it should.

I agree that it's either a bug or just a policy change regarding editing privileges. And if it is a policy change I'm not exactly fond of that new editing restriction.

Ditto. In fact, I'm now logged in on Firefox AND IE7.
P.S. I see they got the "quote" thing fixed.

Thanks!

Hi, My Name is Chris Brown and I work for CPAPtalk.

We are addressing the issues that have been mentioned, one at a time.

We have greatly improved the search over the old forum, but right now you can only search using 4 up to 84 characters. So, searching for 'AHI' or 'DME' or 'S8' won't work right now. We are going to drop it down to allow 2 up to 84 characters. We expect to have this fix installed by Monday morning.

Thanks for your patience and feedback. We are hard at work fixing other issues here as well.

End quote missing?

I do not see this problem here. For this one, I hit the quote, and the cursor was past the end quote and then I wrote this. So there is a non deterministic problem? BTW, even end quote tag inside a double quotes will be taken as the real tag, so I had to remove the above word from your msg, before doing this.
