CPAP Cruise or Conference

Post by Fredman » Tue Apr 22, 2008 8:08 pm

Just a thought. Maybe it's been done before.

Wouldn't it be great if there was a CPAP Cruise or Conference! We could meet each other, have a couple of seminars...enjoy the sights and warmth of some place tropical. It would be nice to meet those we kid and have fun with.

Winter 2010!

Do you think CPAP.COM would or could organize?

How many would be interested...if the price was right?

I've always thought a convention of xPAPer's in Las Vegas would be cool. Imagine a bunch of us running around the casino's in our masks and jammies.....The biggest problem is that in Vegas, nobody would notice.....

Holland America 7 day Mexican Rivera Cruise would be very cool -- April would provide about the best weather - not too hot, not too cold.....

I better be working by then!!!!!!!!!!
cheers

Thanks Den I have PM'd Earl to see if he is still around and possibly interested.

Judging on how many views so far about 54 and only three responses and one vote only...it's not looking too good. But then again it's early on and some people don't like to post replies nor vote.

Will see after tomorrow.

A very interesting idea.. The choices listed don't have the answer I would choose and that would be... need to have more information to decide!! It would also have to be at a discount price!

Love the idea of a cruise. Have thought about itmany times myself. I'd be happy to organize. Going to the Caribbean in the middle of the winter is great!!

I'd be interested, depending upon the location. So many places, so little time!!

Earl aka Rock and Roll has responded to my email and is interested in working on this...stay tuned. Lot of preliminary work and research before anything definitive.

Thanks to Wulfman for the link to the previous post a few years back when an attempt was made then. Apparently great interest but when deposit time came around the trip fell apart. So I think if this is going to be a go, we need to communicate that piece better.

I can well imagine that costs, itinerary, and dates are big considerations for most people.

Earl is a certified Travel Planner (sorry Earl if I have the title wrong ) so I am sure he has a lots of insight and good suggestions.

After I talk to Earl, I will get back to you all on next steps, help, etc. I think if interest is high we will need to setup some other communication methods aside from the forum.

You couldn't pay me to take a cruise. Not with all the stomach virus nastiness that keeps happening.

I might go to Las Vegas for a conference, but not a cruise.

Cheers,
B.

I'd certainly be more inclined to attend a conference or something like that, rather than a cruise. Vegas would be good, as I could win back all my costs for the trip! Hah!

Awww. Babs -- live a little!!!!

The last time we cruised we were nearly swimming in Hand Sanitizer. You couldn't even go into the dining room without a squirt of sanitizer. It was everywhere (Holland America). It's no guarantee, but there's nothing "for sure" -- except perhaps death and taxes

You can get the same virus in Vegas, and it may be happening and not being as publicized as the cruise lines. Vegas certainly isn't as "sanitary" as a cruise ship.....

If I was worried about getting a nondescript virus somewhere, I'd live in a bubble.....

Just my two cents -- and I haven't forgotten (just been realllllly busy)

take care
cheers

Goose is right. Novovirus is what hit the Carnival Liberty. If you keep your hands clean is the biggest preventative and can hit any size gathering.

A wedding party I heard of on dry land including guests of approximately 150 people got novovirus from what appeared to be prepared salads from Costco. An employee had the virus and it ran wildfire through the wedding party and guests.

Nothing is necessarily 100% safe. Come sail with us!
