Scents for humidifier

Post by jsmulvey » Thu Nov 04, 2004 8:42 am

Has anyone heard of putting different scents in the humidifier water? Maybe some sort of aromatherapy? Just wondering.

Does aromatherapy work when you are sleeping?

My guess is the aromatics used in a CPAP application would have to be very slight. Keep in mind you talking about pumping the aroma under pressure directly into your nose.

Maybe if I can dream about chocolate all night I might not eat so much of it during my waking hours HA HA HA

Definately a curious thought to derive some additional theraputic benefit from blowing air up your nose all night.

The directions to my cpap say to NEVER use any scents in the unit or humidifier ! It would be much more concentrated since you are breathing it through your mask and for a long time say 8 hrs.

I wash my mask with kirks liquid soap or shampoo and it smells clean .
