Got my Pur-Sleep Today

Post by darthlucy » Fri Jul 13, 2007 11:21 am

And boy, does it smell nice! As if I needed another reason to want to go to sleep, this is it. Upon opening the package, the first thing I noticed that there are two diffuser pads and three oils. I would recommend including one pad for each scent included in the kit, and putting each pad in a tiny zip-lock bag to keep the smells separated (and to keep them from getting on things that would be harmed by the oil). Also, although the packaging is pretty, I would prefer that the whole kit be in a zip-lock bag that can be reused to store the kit. The cello bag that is used is damaged immediately upon opening the kit. (Yes, I know I can get out my own bag, but just a thought.) Finally, the little bottles that the oils are in seem to be a little leaky. Not much, but just enough that my hands smell after opening the kit....but at least it's a nice smell!

I'll report back more tomorrow, after I've slept with the product.

The leaking bottles business is not a new problem. I brought this to the attention of the Pur-Sleep guy a couple of months ago when I received the original Pur-Sleep product in the mail.

A couple of the bottles had leaked, oils had soaked into the labels of the other bottles, making quite a mess.

I received my Pur-Sleep kit yesterday (Thursday), wrapped in a plain brown envelope, just like.....oh, nebbermind! I digress! LOL

Anyway, I was downright impressed by the fact that I could actually open the outer envelope without resorting to a knife or scissors. I've received some packages that were darn near impossible to open without destroying the contents! Also, the shrink-wrap holding the inside parts together came apart with minimal effort....again, no scissors or knife needed.

My bottle caps were on nice and tight and the labels were pretty spiffy, IMHO. The diffusor pads were sealed all around with nice stitching and the stone holder/ceramic holder seems to be high quality.

I tried the Spice last night. I set up the Pur-Sleep system, put on my mask, turned on my machine, turned off the light, lay down on my right side expecting to enjoy the odor for a while and literally, the next thing I knew it was 2:30 AM and time for a bathroom break! I went to sleep at the same time my head hit the pillow! WOWZERS!

I tried some of the Peace after BR break and lay awake for about 10 minutes. I think the Spice is a better scent. Tonight I'm gonna try the third scent, but after last night, I suspect the Spice may be the one for me. Time will tell

I only used 2 drops on the pad, so the supply outta last like darn near forever! One thing I did, after opening and examining the Pur-Sleep system, I immediately went into the kitchen and got 4 ziplock sandwich bags. I placed the oils separately in bags and the diffusor pads and holder into another and placed the bagged oils in this bag also. As I was watching tv with the bagged system next to me, I started noticing a rather strong, sweetish odor. I figured "Oh oh, the caps are leaking and I'm gonna have oil everywhere!" But it was Sweetie mopping the kitchen/dining room floors with Armstrong floor cleaner! LOLOL

Anywho, for the first night, I'm DARNED impressed with the product.

Later, ya'll!

Kajun

Received mine yesterday and am very pleased. I really like combining the Clear with Peace as Bret suggested.

Thanks for a very nice product and wonderful service.

Got mine today. Thanks, Pursleep.

The issue I have is that my xPAP is sitting on top of a UPS, not a table. The xPAP is wider than the UPS, so there is no obvious place to set the ceramic thingie. I'm not very mechanically minded, but I envision having to make some sort of small shelf that might either lodge between the xPAP and the UPS, or be velcroed to the xPAP.

Any of you handyperson types got any ideas? I'd love to try the thing tonight, but seem to lack suitable materials.

I, too, got my PurSleep package yesterday. I couldn't smell it through the envelope until I opened the package. I liked the idea of a ziplock to store the individual scents in and the diffuser pads so I'll transfer them into the snack size Ziplock for easy storage.
I like that the diffuser pads are washable/reusable.

The package was easy to open, as already mentioned. I was impressed with the stone piece to put the diffuser pad on - very nice looking. I used the "Peace" scent last night. I enjoyed it - it is a lovely lavendar scent. Two drops was enough for the scent to be brought through the hose and it was not overwhelming at all. It was much nicer to breath then the "hose" air, I must say!

I will try the "Clear" scent tonight, which smells like peppermint to me. I usually have a small amount of nasal congestion at night when I first put my mask on nightly and I'm thinking that maybe the "clear" (peppermint) scent might help with opening up the pasage ways a little (?).
I also like the idea of using a drop of Clear and a drop of Peace - I'll give that a try too the next night!

The other scent is "Spice" - this smells a little like orange peel with cloves to me. I'll have to try that on another night and report back!

I do like this product so far!

Mine came today too!

All 3 scents smell nice! I had a few hours between my early morning and late afternoon work shifts so I took a nap and - gave it test ride! I used "Clear" and really liked it. I found myself focusing on the pleasant scent instead of letting a non-ending string of thoughts go through my head. I think this helped me get to sleep faster. When I woke up I could still smell the Clear. It was not overpowering but was relaxing. Thank you so much SleepGuy!

cwsanfor, I must not be very mechanically minded either because I don't know what you mean by a "UPS." The only thing that means to me is United Parcel Service. Hope you get the configuration worked out or post more more detail about the issue. There are plenty of mechanical-minded people that like to frequent the pur-sleep threads (believe me).

Got mine today. Bottles were just the smallest bit leaky. No mess. I didnt mind. With shipping you are looking at an airline ride, riding in a truck, change of temp.....all kinds of stuff. So you might get that with any product you ship. I am pretty forgiving about that kind of thing.

I will be trying it tonight. They arrived pretty fast.....and had I paid for the product I would be very happy about that. Getting a shipment in the mail is always fun. I will report more tommorow after my first use.

All of the feedback is appreciated.
Zip-lock baggies sound like a good idea.
The Basic Starter Pack should have 3 pads instead of 2 (why didn't I think of that?)
The bottles are still having issues . . . . (working on that!)

Clear and a little Peace work wonders for me and my sinus (the peppermint has high menthol content). I also like to use a little bit of the real vanilla (Creme), which was not part of the trial. Mint Cream is extremely pleasant and does wonders for my sinus. The Creme also balances out the Spice a bit, too (orange cream).

Try the Scented CPAP Mask with Pur-Sleep's CPAP Aromatherapy--CPAP Diffuser and Essential Oils.

got mine today

Post by swtsassy65 » Fri Jul 13, 2007 10:44 pm

Well I got my trial today. I opened it after work tonight and was excited.
Easy open and smells nice. I am going to try the spice tonight or maybe
the peace. Cant seem to make up my mind yet.
I like the holder it is very nice looking and matches my room
A big plus.
I agree there should be 3 pads instead of 2 but them being washable helps.
Does anyone wash them out each am or just leave them with the scents after use?
I also think the zip lock bags would be a plus. As for the bottles maybe some set up like an eye dropper would be better. I have not noticed any leaks yet so that is good.
Thanks SleepGuy. Will post tomorrow after work on how it went.

I think I will use the clear tonight. I dont care for the spice at all. Maybe I am weird. Just dont like it. The peace seems nice, but I smell the lavender oil in my OCM oil every night before bed....so up for something different. Plus my right nostril is weirdly stuffy, started last night....and I think the peppermint might just do the trick. Im a blonde.....I tottaly didnt smell them before my last post....so had to post again. lol Hope you all sleep well.
