Best way to buy bleep
Looking to try out Bleep. Insurance through regional home care won’t cover it.
Best way to go about getting it?

Looks like their web site is https://sleeplay.com. Looks like a crazy idea to me. Going to wander around with that thing glued to your face if you get up for a bit, or use new pads constantly? There are also no reviews on the site at the moment... make of that what you will.
Re: Best way to buy bleep
No, that is not the web site for bleep. It's https://bleepsleep.com/. Quite a few of us use it.
If your insurance covers masks, they probably cover this one too (at least in the US that's the case). It's a bit more likely that your DME doesn't want to bother with it. You may have to make a pain of yourself.
My insurance, because yay US, has a high deductible ... I get mine from cpap.com and Amazon, watching for sales and buying large amounts.

Sleep loss is a terrible thing. People get grumpy, short-tempered, etc. That happens here even among the generally friendly. Try not to take it personally.
Re: Best way to buy bleep
Your insurance will indeed pay for it but your supplier doesn't want to supply it and file your insurance for it. I ran into same problem with my local DME. The old "your insurance won't pay for it" is plain old bullshit. The Bleep and the ports use the same HCPCS billing code as any nasal mask and replacement cushions.
There are a few online suppliers who will file insurance and dispense the Bleep...now whether your insurance has a contract with those supplier is another question.
Nationwide Medical Insurance will do it but they are out of network for me.
I think Stuart told me a couple of weeks ago that LinCare will do it in some areas but I don't know which areas.
Let me see who else will file insurance....will get back later on that.
Otherwise....buy your own and give it a try and if you don't like it then don't worry about finding an online supplier.
You can get what you need on Amazon.

Wrong website...you copied wrong url. It's no wonder there are no reviews.rcobourn wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 3:09 pmLooks like their web site is https://sleeplay.com. Looks like a crazy idea to me. You want reviews...how about these
viewtopic/t174807/BleepDreamPort-nasal- ... eep+Review
Or 21 reviews at cpap.com the majority positive
https://www.cpap.com/productpage/bleep- ... er-reviews
I use the Bleep...with it I don't need to get up in the middle of the night which is the whole idea...actually sleep.
Don't knock it till you tried it. I don't knock masks I have never tried.

Go to the above link...some of the sellers listed are online cpap suppliers who will file insurance in lieu of payment.
Aeroflow is the most recent to come on board I think. I haven't checked them out but I know of a couple of forum members who have used them.

Thanks so much Pugsy!
I read that you use one. And I like the idea of trying things we are interested in. Can’t hurt! I ordered it - only $75! Should be here in a couple of days.
Any expert tips for a first time user?

Watch all the videos at the Bleep website. Pretty much everything is covered in the videos so take the time to watch them.
Take a big dose of patience before you start.
Skin prep....1000% important. The skin has to be clean, clean, clean....facial oils are the worst enemy of the adhesive.
Sometimes I cheat and don't wash my face at bedtime like I should because I didn't wear make up that day. So I try to cheat by doing just a good scrub with alcohol....and I usually pay for it with losing the adhesive stickiness in the middle of the night....and my skin isn't particularly oily. A lot of guys have really oily skin...khauser above has oily skin and he had some extra challenges because of it but with time and patience and a lot of experiments we solved the issue.

Re: Best way to buy bleep
My original DME would not supply Bleep, so I switched to one that would. This group is listed on Stuart's site under the Where to Buy button. It's called Aeroflow and I've been using them successfully for four or five months now. They are an online company. I love using the Bleep system!

Re: Best way to buy bleep
I have been on the bleep system for about six weeks. I have tried numerous masks and the bleep mask is by far my favorite. Once you master putting on the ports you get a great sleep with no leaks. Never had a problem with the adhesive not sticking throughout the night, also no issues removing it. My Dme gave me an issue also since they didn’t carry it.I might have to switch companies. One thing that was important for me is originally I received the short tube, which for me wasn’t good. When I received the new design which includes a diffuser and a longer tube this solved all my problems.
Let us know how you make out.

For those that use bleep - what's with the vent diffuser and heat vent tube? Just read thats a new thing. I can figure out the heat vent tube but whats the vent difuser? Looks like a black pad add on?
Also - I have used a full face mask until now. (Bleep should be here in a few days) - Does anyone need to use mouth tape? Any good recs if so?

Re: Best way to buy bleep
What are you calling "heat vent tube"??? That's a new one on me.
The little black thing which I just refer to as sort of a bikini thong holds a little bit of filter material over the mask's vent holes and diffuses the vented air so it is less noisy and less annoying. It is what we call the diffuser because it actually holds the material that is doing the diffusing.
Sorry...can't help with taping. I don't do it and haven't in over 11 years. Tape preferences are like masks though....big YMMV sticker.
What one person might love the next person might hate with a passion.
When I did tape I just used cheap blue painters tape because I had it handy and I am the queen of cheap...and it worked. I gave up taping about 3 months after starting cpap because I learned to keep my mouth shut (for the most part anyway) and I found it a PITA to have to do every night.

This question is geared to those getting their CPAP supplies from the VA or using TRICARE Prime insurance.
- Is anyone's VA carrying the bleep system?
- To those using TRICARE Prime (for retirees) - have you found an online DME that covers CPAP supplies with no (or very little) co-pay?? Do they happen to carry bleep?
I've looked over their website and I want to try the system...my barber has been wondering why one part of my hair is screwed up in the way it lays/grows. It was only recently that I figured out...it's probably due to my headgear for my nasal pillows!!
