"REAL" SLEEP!!!!!!!

Post by Sleepy-eyes » Wed Feb 21, 2007 7:46 am

So this is what it's like!!!!!!!!! I slept deeper last night than I can ever remember. I actually feel good this morning. I slept under the mask for exactly 9 hours last night. My AHI was 0.6. Finally getting many of the variables in my therapy worked out. Man, this is like breaking the combination lock on the safe at the bank! Oh yeah, I've recently started using the Pur-Sleep essential oils system. Used a lavender essential oil last night. I don't credit just that to my night, but I do know it sure helped and was part of why all went so well. Now if I could just find a comfortable mask, this therapy might be something I'd look forward to each night.

HOORAY FOR YOU!

I hope it continues for you

You slept that long and that good with those great numbers - and your mask isn't comfortable!? Wow, I want to read what you say when you add a comfortable mask to the mix. Congratulations!

I'm using the NasasAire II. My nostrils hurt in the morning. The largest canula I can get into my lubricated nose still leaks a little. I have to pull it up so hard my nose is all wrinkled. My pressure is 15. The hose that comes down both sides of my face is fairly stiff and I'm a side-sleeper. So yes, it's uncomfortable...............but last night I didn't notice it too much. I'm hoping to change masks in the near future, so we'll see.

Chris, you made my day!! FANTASTIC! Good For YOU!

I had all but given up on my cpap 10 months ago (having deceived myself into thinking that I got enough sleep lying on my side) and then started experiencing just what you described! Amazing! It changed my life.

No sh*t Sherlock!

I feel great. This is the first time I can remember "bounding" out of bed ready for the day. I honestly can't remember the last time that happened in my life. Feel as if I could tackle the world and win!

Den, I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed on anything being a "solution". I'm just happy things are working out right now.

Congrats Chris,

Just some food for thought here: I used the NasalAire for almost 3 years (it was the only mask I ever tried). But last year I read RG's post about the Aura Twilight NP, and I bought one.

It's soooooo comfortable - I would never ever go back to the NasalAire again. You might consider trying it.

But it's the "homemade stretchy strap" across the nasal pillows that stabilizes it and makes it work - for me.

Thanks, Linda....................I've been looking at that and the CL2. Haven't made up my mind yet.

Chris, it's always nice to here about a success! I hope your post will let others see that there is a good nights sleep to be had if they are persistant and keep tweaking treatment until it works.
I wish you many more nights of great sleep!

Brenda

My night last night wasn't quite as good. I slept just fine..........when I slept, but the durned mask kept hurting my nostrils. That thing really is a pain in the nose! (pun intended) Other than that, everything was great. Could only sleep under the mask for 6 hours. Slept another 3 after taking it off. Man it's nice to feel good in the mornings.
