OSCAR Suggestions & Bug reporting
OSCAR Suggestions & Bug reporting
In another thread I was asked for where to submit suggestions.
You can feel free to PM me if you wish, either here or over on AB. But in this thread will work.
Suggestions will be considered, but no guarantee that or when they will be implemented. Most of the suggestions we have seen so far will, IMHO, be implemented.
Anyone that would like to contribute to OSCAR, please PM me (bonjour) over on Apnea Board http://www.apneaboard.com/forums/index.php. We can always use C++ / QT developers, Testers, and Translators for languages we do not yet have covered.

Re: OSCAR Suggestions
It would be great if there was some instruction on importing the Sleepy Head Data into Oscar. I have tried several times and 00 results.
I notice that most of the time the file type says nothing (like all files, etc.) so it is a crap shoot (for me anyway) to find a folder or file that will enable the "choose" button. I have found a few but nothing happens so I have given up on it insofar as bringing in my olds data. Have not tried current stuff off the SD card.

Notes Indicator:
Prescription Settings Hi-lighting:
Epoch Listing:
Native FlashAir Support:
- It's difficult to determine days where one has entered notes. Place an indicator on the Daily Tab and Overview Tab when one has Notes associated with the day.
Prescription Settings Hi-lighting:
- On the Statistics Tab, the best two AHI days are highlighted in green and the worst two in red. The problem is the highlighted ones could be single day outliers, and not statistically significant. The ability to only include periods that are statistically significant or exclude outliers would be beneficial.
Epoch Listing:
- Similar to the Changes to Prescription Settings listing in the Statistics Tab, one could define specific notable events and associate it with days and date ranges. The listing could then be displayed with AHI calculated on those time-frames for comparison to other days or other Epoch ranges.
For example:- Medication
- Machine Settings
- Travel
Native FlashAir Support:
- Toshiba's FlashAir WiFi SD Card is a popular option for many SH/OSCAR users. It requires a third party utility such as Sleep Master or FlashPap to move and synchronize the data from the FlashAir to the local host.
Many users have difficulty setting up and configuring FlashAir and Sleep Master/FlashPap. Including the functionality natively within OSCAR could greatly contribute to the usability of FlashAir.
- FlashAir Developers - Support Links:https://www.flashair-developers.com/en/ ... ommandcgi/
- FlashPap - https://www.cognitial.com/software-apps ... /flashpap/
- Sleep Master - http://www.sleepmaster.org/home.html

Re: OSCAR Suggestions
For a number of years, I've used Resmed's ResScan.
Is there a way to import the Resscan data into Oscar?

Re: OSCAR Suggestions
As far as I know, it is not possible to import ResScan's data files into OSCAR (or Sleepyhead). ResScan imports data from your SD card into it's own internal format, and saves that data in .rlk files. OSCAR (and SH) don't have the ability to read that format. (If you try to import the .rlk files into OSCAR, it just ignores them and does nothing.)
Do you have your several years worth of data still on an SD card, or back ups of that card? If you do, you can import that data into OSCAR (or SleepyHead) directly by using File/Import data and either reading the card or directing the import process to read a directory on disk that contains the records originally written to an SD card.

Re: OSCAR Suggestions
When I installed Sleepyhead on my old windows 7 computer I had to use
the Broken Dl version. Well I just downloaded the 32 bit windows 7 version
of Oscar and it just won't run all I get is an Open source analysis stopped working
message any idea what's hapening or do I just need to replace my 5 year old
computer.

Re: OSCAR Suggestions
I suggest checking whether your video driver is up-to-date and updating it if not. Some people have reported that updating the video driver can solve similar problems.Woody wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2019 6:00 pmWhen I installed Sleepyhead on my old windows 7 computer I had to use

Are you using 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows? If 64-bit, try downloading the 64-bit version of OSCAR and see if it behaves any differently.

Re: OSCAR Suggestions
There are two other things I would like you to try. Both require editing plain text settings files. If these two changes do not help, then I would ask you to test a "brokenGL" version of OSCAR that I could send you.Woody wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2019 6:00 pmWhen I installed Sleepyhead on my old windows 7 computer I had to use

In your OSCAR_Data directory, open the preferences.xml file with Notepad and make sure that multithreading is set to 'false':
Code: Select all
<EnableMultithreading type="bool">false</EnableMultithreading>

Re: OSCAR Suggestions
I've got a moment to report the issues I'm seeing. I'll put each in a separate post.
This I'm sure many have noticed. The highlighted Daily Statistics are incorrect every day.
EDIT: to add that this is the same in SleepyHead 1.1.0
