Best CPAP cleaning machine?

I wash my nasal pillows and humidifier chamber once a week in a plugged sink using hot, soapy water. During the week I just top off the humidifier with distilled water. If I saw residue building up, I would clean it more often, but I never do. The whole process takes maybe 2 minutes. I never wash my hose. If I am sick with a cold, I do wash my stuff every morning until the cold goes away.

I really do think most people overthink this stuff, but if people want to clean more often it doesn't bother me.

Don't drink the Green Cool-aid, it's got Anti-Freeze in it, Check the Ad, I think So No Clean can remove it too. Jim

MrsRin... I haven't read all of your posts but by your response I'm guessing you have the SoClean machine - and you use it and feel it was well worth the money spent. That's great! Just understand that you are in a room full of people who don't like it... and seem to jump on anyone who does. I don't have a SoClean and don't want one. But it sure is okay with me if you use one; it's your money and you get to spend it any way that makes sense to you. Be well.

I can see where critical thinking would scare you... Evidenced by the fact that I said nothing whatsoever about a cult.

But, since you implied that something about me was "pathetic", I'll address the cult comment that the venerated frog made.

A definition of 'cult': a misplaced or excessive admiration for a particular person or thing. (aren't dictionaries fun?)

People that come in here and start talking about how they're "soo happy" with their results with the socrap machine are doing so without a single bit of proof, not one of them has anything other than misplaced and excessive admiration of a thing. They've got no evidence that their machine does anything at all other than make funny smells.. They've not cultured any swabs off the mask before and after a 'treatment', they have no evidence whatsoever that it's effective... they just *believe* that it is, perhaps because otherwise, they'd have to admit that they were suckered by fearmongering advertising. They refuse to believe the statements of professionals in the industry that say that the socrap cannot possibly achieve the claims that are made for it.

So, yes, by *definition*, the 'cult' comment is applicable.

Perhaps this may help you, should you choose to attempt to engage in that scary critical thinking.

Every time you wash your mask are you suppose to wash your headgear too? My masks are dry but the headgear isn't. I washed everything over 12 hours ago...

Headgear only needs to be washed if it's visibly soiled or feeling a bit loose. Think roughly once a month. (unless your hair is really nasty) Some folks throw it in with their laundry and then air dry it.

The manufacturers do not recommend use of any machines for cleaning any CPAP equipment, other than some humidifier tanks being dishwasher safe. Until such time as manufacturers endorse it, the prudent thing is to avoid it, in my opinion.

Until then, the best thing might be to make a sticky thread entitled "The Majority Here Have Already Concluded That SoClean Is Crap" and then immediately to lock that sticky so that no posts can be made to it. In the meantime, as the saying goes, "Down with anti-establishmentism!"

Do you find the need to wash your bed sheets and pillow case, they touch that nasty mask and headgear too. Jim
