Any non snorers with obstructive sleep apnea?
My husband tells me I do not snore. Maybe it is not loud for him to wake up, he snores loudly and is a sound sleeper, (CPAP will not keep him up). I recently started gasping for air, actually woke me up on two seperate nights, (both times I had fallen asleep in a sitting position). Sleep apnea runs in the famiy, other members do snore loudly.
The only reason I got tested was because other family members were diagnosed with OBA. I have been exhausted for many years, I thought it was due to insomnia or bad sleep during the early hours of the night, which may be different thing.

i don't snore
I don't snore and have moderate OSA and feel awful. I didn't get tested for years because the GPs I saw thought you had to snore or be overweight in order to have apnea. Not true in the least. J

I was not a consistent snorer. Some nights I did, some nights I didn't. Also, I tended to snore when I slept on my back, but not on my side. However, my sleep study showed I had pretty consistent apnea in both positions. What I have read is that snoring is a possible warning sign of apnea, it is not the only sign or even the main one. Snoring and apnea can be independent in both directions.
Count me in
I'm another non-snorer, but have probably had at least mild apnea since a kid, looking back now. Glad I finally got a doctor that decided my tiredness despite lack of snoring merited a sleep test.

I am described in my sleep study as "occasional soft snoring." certainly not typical, and never had tendency to doze during the day. Never thought of going to a sleep doctor, although in hindsight there were three signs which should have sent me there (1) morning headaches (2) my wife mentioned that I clenched my teeth during the night especially when sleeping on my back (3) my neck sweated while sleeping even though the rest of my body didn't.
My pulmonologist was reveiewing the awful results of a "Pulmonary function test" and was peering down my throat and said "I have to talk to you about something else," and he told me on the spot that he is 80% sure I have sleep apnea!
Snoring is not necessarily a symptom, and if I had caught on to this earlier I probably could have started treatment when it was milder. Saved wear and tear on my heart, hemodynamic system and emotions.
