I love my Dreamwear mask and am looking at getting the large frame to see what happens as I feel that the medium is just not quite big enough. I'm also looking at an alternative mask that I can take with me on trips and also use as a back up if the Dreamwear breaks for any reason.
I really like the idea of the hose running over the top of my head as I'm a bit of a restless sleeper who prefers to sleep on their side. Looking at the internet I came across the Opus 360 which is almost as minimalist as the Dreamwear and can be run over the top of my head. I've used nasal pillows before and have no problems with them.
Has anyone here used the Opus 360 and can comment on it? Most of the reviews seem positive and it sells for a very good price from the forum sponsor.

Why not a second Dreamwear?Holden4th wrote:I love my Dreamwear mask and am looking at getting the large frame to see what happens as I feel that the medium is just not quite big enough. Re: Alternative to Dreamwear
It's been a long time since I tried the Opus. It was part of my "try all nasal pillow masks" experiment a few years back.
The nasal pillows themselves were quite comfortable but I had some issues getting the headgear stable and fitted securely....easily. That easy part is something that means a lot to me and since I tend to be lazy in general it's kinda important. I didn't spend the time to really work at making the Opus work for me. This was a long time ago and I have learned a lot since then and I suspect that now it would probably be easier for me.
I just haven't had a chance to revisit the Opus again.
If you like the over the head thing and wearing a mouth guard doesn't freak you out you might also take a look at the Tap Pap nasal pillow mask. It was my primary mask until the release of the P10 nasal pillow mask and it's still a real close second.
But in general if a mask interests a person I think that they should try that mask if they like to try different things.
I am that way. Just because I am happy with a mask doesn't stop me from trying something different just because it interests me. I guarantee you will learn something. Now that "something" might only be how bad of an idea that experiment was but you will learn something.
Some people don't find the challenge of trying something new all that interesting and fun....and that's okay.
But some people just like to try new stuff when they have a chance and that's okay too.
The Opus has been around for a long time. It was available when I started therapy back in 2009 so it's part of the old school way of doing things. Not that old school is bad or anything but as newer masks were released people tried newer and some people didn't go back to "old school" for whatever reason. The Opus used to a the primary mask for a lot of nasal pillow mask users. It's a nice mask....my only complaint was the headgear and part of that was likely my fault and my own lack of patience.
Unfortunately mask experiments aren't cheap. Back in my experiment days we used to have a source for cheap used masks for such experiments but we don't have that source now.
Since you are in Australia it makes for not being able to use the return insurance that cpap.com offers very well.
What with customs on both our ends there's not much usable time available.
Plus cpap.com can't ship Respironics or ResMed masks to addresses outside the US but they can ship other brands.

Re: Alternative to Dreamwear
Does dreamwear leaking easily since it's under the nose? I have a small face structure. I tried the amara full face mask, it's partially use the under the nose concept too, but it's easy to leak.

Re: Alternative to Dreamwear
Everyone is different, but I find it very adaptable because of the slot rather than nasal pillows. I do find it has to be tightened more than most masks to avoid leaking, but once it's properly adjusted it's nice and stable, and having the hose on the top of the head helps because there's no weight on the front pulling the mask away from your face.mibbim wrote:Does dreamwear leaking easily since it's under the nose?
