REMstar M Series 100M Useage Hours

Post by TuxU » Wed Sep 21, 2016 7:48 pm

Hi,

So I have done some searching here but can't seem to find the exactly what I am looking for.

I have had a REMstar M Series 100M since around 2009. Periods of use have varied although I have been a nightly user over the last few months. I am going for a DOT physical in the next month and need the data for the physical. I see this model shows the following on the LED screen:

1. Blower Hours
2. Therapy Hours
3. > 4 Session Hours

Does the > 4 Session Hours number give the grand total from the time I purchased the machine or is that for a window, say 30 days? The Blower and Therapy Hours are high yet the Session Hours are EXTREMELY low. Low as in 12. There is no way I have only had 12 TOTAL > 4 Hour sessions in 7 years plus I know it has been used daily for several months now. Even if on a 30 day window, 12 is way less than what it should be. I wake up the vast majority of mornings with the mask still on.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated!

Therapy Usage Screen
This screen displays the amount of time that the patient
has received therapy (with the blower on and the patient
connected).
The screen displays both a 7 and 30-day average. The
maximum value that can be displayed for both averages is
24 hours.

Sessions Greater than 4 Hours Screen
This screen displays the number of device therapy sessions
that exceeded 4 hours in 7-day and 30-day periods. The
maximum value that can be displayed for the 7-day period
is 35 sessions, and the maximum value for the 30-day
period is 150 sessions.
.
A "session" is just a period of use. If you take a nap with the machine in the afternoon, that's a session. When you go to sleep that night, that's another session on the same day. For most cpap machines, the "day" runs from around noon to noon so an afternoon nap would be counted as being on the same "day" as that night's session.

If you need to prove compliance for a job with such an old machine, they will often have you bring in either the memory card or the machine. Some newer machines upload the data using the cell phone network so that it can be checked remotely.

You can get the clinician's manual here: https://www.apria.com/wp-content/upload ... Manual.pdf Be careful - it you press the wrong keys when in the clinical menu, you can reset some of the things like recent hours of use. Other things, like total hours of use can not be reset.

p.s. People are much more likely to respond to your questions if you register an account because they think it's more likely that the person will come back and check for responses.
