Why PS max is 8 PR DS 700

Post by ddcckc » Tue Sep 20, 2016 8:54 pm

Is anyone familiar as to why the new DreamStation DS 700 Auto BIPAP only has a max PS of 8. It is more than enough for me but is less than on other Auto BIPAP models.

well, respironics is the only company that makes an auto BIPAP, and 8 is just what they do, check back with their older models.

BiPAP is, by definition, a respironics product.

Resmed makes auto bilvel machines, in the S9 line they're labeled VPAP, in the air10 line, they're labled aircurve.

Devilbiss makes the IntelliPAP AutoBiLevel.

and, if you want a chinese knockoff from 3b medical, you can get the RESmart BPAP 25A Auto Bi-Level.

the term bipap was patented by respironics but is used much like the term Kleenex is used for a tissue

Back to original question then is the PR DS700 the only auto BIPAP or auto BiLevel that limits the max PS to 8, and are there any other significant differences?

the system one line of bipaps are limited to 8ps in auto mode.

as to other manufacturers bilevel machines, resmed s9 and air10 machines are limited to 10 in bilevel mode, I suggest you check the clinicians manuals for the other manufacturers bilevel machines.
