I assume that in straight CPAP mode both machines should provide the same therapy results? I gave away my card reader for the S8 so have no way to compare the two.
I do not travel with a humidifier and the S8 is a much smaller package with its built in power supply. Going to have a 16-1/2 hour flight and the S8 seems like less of a hassle. Also, does anyone know the power draw of the S8 and Autosense when used without the humidifier?

Re: S8 Auto vs Airsense 10 Auto as CPAP?
I don't have an Airsense, but I do have an S9 and couple of S8's that I sometimes use as travel machines. Used as straight CPAP, there should be no difference in function between the S8, S9, and Airsense, except for minor calibration differences and the lack of easy data retrieval from the S8.
In the Auto mode, as you are no doubt aware, the S9 and Airsense share an updated algorithm which could affect treatment, I suppose, although my S8 auto does pretty well by me.
I do like the S8 as a travel machine, but I pretty much use my S9 now. Without the humidifier, it also has a small footprint and I don't find the power brick much of a hassle. I like the ease of data retrieval the S9 affords and I think the S9 travel case in much better (more room) than the S8's.
