CPAPMax pillow and jaw pain

Post by Omne » Thu Sep 15, 2016 7:24 am

Just curious.

I use a CPAPMax low foam pillow with the side cutouts. Lately I've been having a lot of pain on the left side of my jaw. I thought it was from clenching my teeth but apparently not. Last night I realized that I was laying mainly on the middle section and when I was on my right side the mask/headgear was producing torque against my jaw by shoving the lower jaw to the left. I'm assuming this would happen with any low hard pillow. Has anyone else run into this?

I'm looking at trying a CPAPfit pillow instead and hopefully that will help.

CPAPfit is a great pillow, but, it is hard if you are concerned about that. I personally would use nothing else. I love it.

Can you copy the cutout of a Cpap pillow but use memory or other foam inside?

The one I am using does have memory foam but it doesn't soften until it's heated and it's still pretty thin.

It was under $50 when I bought it.

I use the cpapfit pillow, and am using around half of the included fill--due to a short neck.
I returned more of the foam to the pillow to make it softer.
It is still firm, but not as hard as a straight buckwheat fill.

Thanks, that sounds like what I want. I was worried about a straight buckwheat pillow, I wasn't impressed with one I saw but it may have been the quality. As seen on TV etc.
