Periodic Breathing and Waking

Post by thegrimmsleeper » Wed Sep 14, 2016 6:42 am

I had a few of the Periodic Breathing episodes last night, but in looking at the time I can tell you that this was when my alarm was going off and I was starting to wake up (only to shut if off and sleep for another hour, but I did look at the clock before turning it off).

My AHI was up overall. Last night was my first night with 7 as my starting pressure. I again found it eminently tolerable and was able to fall asleep fairly easily. When I did wake up for my alarm, and when I woke up for the day, I was glad to see I didn't feel suffocated at all by the mask.

Here's the data. The obstructive episodes happened before I fell asleep, and I think the early cluster of hypopneas were from me clearing my throat in the mask, as I've got some congestion symptoms at the moment (my sinuses are always a problem for me). Maybe that accounts for the VS2 as well, since I know I wasn't sleeping at that point.

You're going to have to zoom in to those two green periodic breathing patches to get any meaningful comments. The members will need to see the rising and falling crescendos in close-up.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.
