Has anybody made any changes based on feedback?

Post by D.H. » Tue Sep 13, 2016 7:05 pm

I don't mean to change the pressure without speaking to the doctor first, so let's not go there.

Has anybody tried a different mask, a different humidity setting, a different sleep position based on the feedback for the machine? Has anybody called the doctor, the DME, or the sleep lab to discuss the possibility of changing anything based on the feedback?

It's just that I'm getting all this feedback, looking at it, and not changing a thing. I had machines that didn't give any feedback (except the "odometer") for seventeen years. This is interesting information, but not in any way a game changer.

Never had a machine give me feedback, mine give me data, which I use to compute things that will make my life better. Jim

the only 'feedback' from DunderHead is what you get when the microphone's too close to the speakers...

@DH--
Since you value your doctor's every word,
why are you asking US?

The first thing I did when I got my machine set at 5-18 was research on this and other boards.

As I was suffocating at 5 and the huge range was causing havoc with discomfort and leaks, I took the advice on many threads to gradually increase the low pressure with excellent results. No doctor was consulted during this process. I own my treatment! AHI at 5-18 was between 5 and 10, now it is under 1. QED.

Every one of us I think has made some changes based on 'feedback'... it's why we came here when faced with set-ups that didn't work when done by doctors and/or DMEs who just don't understand how equipment works, whatever they may understand about apnea in theory. We did it with the help of people here with long years of experience, education, sharing, etc. and the understanding that we're all adults, with capable brains and ability, and can take our own health into our own control. No one has told you or anyone else to not ask your doctor about anything, but from the sound of your questions he/she apparently has not told you zip, which is probably what led you here to begin with. SO, why are you being such a jerk about everything? Why ask so many questions, then say you have no intention of taking our help. Why are you wasting our time and energy and goodwill?

When I said "feedback" I meant the data provided by the newer machines. I'm sorry I wasn't clearer.

Since I used older CPAP machines without this capability for many years (and did just fine), I wonder if anybody has benefited from this.

I have a new machine now, but I've got my routine down and there doesn't seem to be anything in the data that calls for change.

For gawds sake. You've made 70 posts, most of them offering advice, and you ask a question like that???

You mean like my doctor told me to adjust the pressure to keep my AHI down seven years ago?

All humans adjust their behaviour based on feedback. Are you human or just some kid's AI experiment?
