Feeling Dizzy and Lightheaded With Airstart 10

Post by anienham » Mon Sep 12, 2016 1:51 am

I've been using the Airstart 10 for a week now and I'm noticing that I'm feeling dizzy and light headed throughout the day. I'm not sure if it's a combination of things. I'm also taking Fluticasone for congestion. Last night it took me several hours to fall asleep while wearing it. I fell asleep and then woke up again and then dozed off. When I got up, I felt as if I was spinning. I've had this feeling before since using the CPAP, but it doesn't occur every night.

Has anyone else had this with the Airstart 10 CPAP?

You should ask your doctor about a home blood pressure kit because Cpap can lower your BP, but if it's already on the low side, you may feel lightheaded after using Cpap, so should test it right after waking in the a.m. Either that, or have your doctor look at the medication to see if it might cause problems. You said you take it for congestion - is that new (since starting Cpap)? If it is, did you start to feel congested after starting Cpap, possibly because you have the humidifier turned up when you don't need it (if local climate is already humid) so became congested? If so, turn down (or even off) the humidifier, you only need it when conditions are appropriate - it's not therapy in itself.

Airstart 10 is a new "cheap" model that was introduced as primarily a travel machine. As far as I know, there is no way to access data to see how your therapy is progressing. If you got this through your insurance, I would go back to your DME and ask them to exchange this machine for a data capable unit. If necessary see your doctor and ask him to write a prescription for a data capable machine.

it's a piece of shit, only good for a backup machine.

take it back and demand an autoset.
