So much to read / confusing / newbie needing advice

Post by SerafinaDllRose » Sun Sep 04, 2016 12:18 am

I need (and will) post the rest of my CPAP specs by tomorrow. I am hoping to fall off to sleep after posting this topic.

I've had my CPAP machine for a couple of weeks and having issues. I can fall asleep with the mask on but not used to sleeping on my back. Before I had the CPAP, my routine was to wake up an hour after I fell asleep and sleep a couple more hours and wake up and back to sleep for a couple of hours and so on. I slept on my side.

I continue to wake up after an hour with the CPAP but now wake up choking. The only other time that happened was when I had the bright idea to take Melatonin - I woke up choking after an hour of sleep.

I called the Dr's office and left a message last week - haven't heard back. The place I bought the machine assured me that it was calibrated according to the prescription.

Just wondering whether it's an adjustment period or there's something I need to change.

Thanks!

Wonder why you feel that you have to sleep on your back now? Can you please expand on that?

Thanks.

We need to know what type of machine, mask and what pressure settings you have.

Do you have acid reflux?
