older GoodKnight unit "ramps down" instead of ramping up

Post by Jpap » Fri Sep 02, 2016 4:38 pm

Hello friends -

I'm using an older GoodKnight 425 bipap. Suddenly, every 20 minutes, it ramps down and the stream of air is weakened. Sort of like the opposite of the ramp up feature, only it isn't gradual - the unit suddenly drops our of warp. I can turn it off and back on again and it corrects the issue for about 20 minutes then the cycle starts all over. Needless to say, it's a little jarring. Anyone know if this is a setting and/or how to correct it?

Thanks!

About 7 years old (yeah, I know - I got my money's worth.) I'm not worried getting a new one - it's the long process without a working one that concerns me. Can't even get into the ENT until Thursday and because my prescription is old, I'll probably have to go through the sleep test again.

And you might find it easier to buy a machine out of pocket than to jump through all the hoops of a new sleep test and such.

Like others have said, you need a newer machine... there are some great deals right now on previous generation auto machines (from last year), both in the ResMed and PR lines. Those deals won't last forever.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.
