so clean 2

Post by kathy68 » Wed Jul 20, 2016 11:14 pm

Does so clean 2 really work? I am looking for a machine to sterilize my cpap. I am not sure that cleaning it with detergent and vinegar can get rid of bacteria . please help me in this subject if you use the so clean or if you know any other method.

search for threads about it using the search bar up top by the logo.

consensus is that the only thing it cleans is your wallet.

trying to sterilize your cpap is a waste of time, the first time you turn it on, bacteria gets pulled in through the intake and blown through the hose.

So Clean company outright lies so how can you trust them.

some of their lies.

Same technology used in hospitals; Fact, Ozone is rarely used in hospitals and the machines that use it need to add Vaporized Hydrogen Peroxide and additional O2. To think that you can get what you need out of thin air without adding these things is swamp land in Arizona

The unit cleans; I have been on the phone with their folks several times asking how it cleans, no one can tell me. I ask, If there is an organic substance in my tubing, are you saying it will be gone when the cycle is complete and can you tell me where it went - crickets

The question you need to ask yourself is where do the bacteria come from you want to kill?

You will be breathing room air (that you breathe all day anyhow) coming through a filter at the back of the machine, and then exiting through a vent at the front of the mask. What is it that you think needs sterilizing? SoClean takes advantage of people who are caught up in the industry's mania for cleanliness that they've convinced people they need to achieve (way past some research lab conditions) and that in fact is making people sicker because their immune systems don't develop properly. The product and company are worthless, and you'd be much better off just using a wipe of some kind once a week if you feel the need to 'clean' it (on the outside only, of course, the inside certainly cannot be accessed by us in any case any more than any other machines we keep around).

Germophobia is a mental disorder that SoUNclean and others like them happily exploit for profit.

I'm sure this is just some weird viral ad campaign straight from the Bizarro world. It happens every few months now and the posts are basically the same in that they all prey on germophobes. Naturally they cloak it all in an 'innocent' question.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

I acquired a SoClean, kind of, and I used it for a couple of months. I'm hardly a germophobe, but I do have a compromised immune system, and it was early in my CPAP use, so I didnt yet know if the water/vinegar thing would do it for me.

It does. It feels cleaner and smells cleaner than it did with the SoClean. I've also relaxed a lot about the whole process, so I'm not hypervigilant about the cleaning. I swap out the cushion on my Dreamwear once a week for a clean one, wipe down the cushion I'm using every day and the whole mask and headgear when it needs it. I swap out the hose for a clean one every other month or so. Some of this is just to keep everything wearing evenly, but I do always wash anything before I store it. Vinegar and water is fine for me.

I suspect that no-clean is NOT prescribed in such cases.
I also would bet money that insurance NEVER covers such snake oil dispensers.

I hope the guy that put you machine together (SoClean) got over his TB.

I don't know about everyone else, but I hate it when I get TB exposed inside my Bubble Home. Maybe, if I had bought a No Clean, I could detox my Bubble. Jim

First off, if you want to know where the bacteria, mold, and viruses come from, mostly from you. You exhale into the mask and anything that exhales exhales all of the above. The intake of the machine has a filter of sufficient density to block all of the above. Most medical facilities use a 10% bleach and water solution to clean pulmonary equipment inside and out. Just rinse with this solution and air dry. Chlorine is evaporates without residue at room temperature so when it is dry the equipment is safe to use. Hope this helps. Ozone does react with everything. Used daily it cannot but help with odor and active organisms. Killing everything is almost impossible! Chlorine is what the CDC prefers.
