Bed Pillow feedback

Love this site! New CPAP user and I am getting such great ideas and tips from everyone.

I am using a nasal pillow mask (back and side sleeper) and would like to know if anyone here uses a CPAP bed pillow.
I'm considering the C Max bed pillow.

I'd love to hear your advice.

I started to get one of those specialty cpap pillow but changed my mind as I found that to keep my head and shoulders aligned, I'm using a pretty flat pillow anyway. I too am a side sleeper. I probably have 4 different kinds of pillows and found the one that gave me just enough elevation to keep everything aligned.

I used a Contour pillow several years back. It was great. It is a memory foam pillow, so it is a little hard. It has a ledge for your neck. My daughter took it to Kansas City when she got married and moved there. I then bought a buckwheat pillow. It is very hard and I really never could overcome how hard it was. It is great for shaping the pillow to accommodate the mask. It is a very popular pillow here. I finally bought another Contour pillow and I extremely satisfied with it. Memory foam pillows and beds can be very hard to get used to, but when you do.... you'll never go back to anything else.

This buckwheat pillow is firmer than I was using and I had my doubts I could sleep with it, but it cut way back on my tossing and turning. You do have to remove fill and customize the pillow for you. I think I removed and saved for later about half of the filling. I was sleeping only on my stomach before but with this pillow I fall asleep on my side and before I know it, it is morning.

I have used a memory foam with neck support for probably 25+ years and will never use anything else. No problem sleeping on it with my nasal pillows. Tried a buckwheat about a yr. ago, didn't work for me either.

For years, I used a soft fiber bed pillow, but I have learned better.
I found the regular buckwheat pillow too hard for me, but the one in my signature is awesome!
The fill is a combination of buckwheat hulls and shredded foam.

the problem with buckwheat is that you can develop light sensitivity, called "fagopyrism", can result from the fagopyrin in buckwheat. The symptoms are a rash on exposure to sunlight. beware!

Having already survived one kind of cancer, I have no interest in competitive tanning.
Uh, I just looked it up. You have to INGEST the buckwheat.

My in-laws ate the stuff, but I'm not too keen on it.

Also maybe we didn't explain they are made out of clean buckwheat hulls not the grain.
