Hi,
I use APAP pressure 9 to11. I am comfortable with it. But 90% pressure is 11 for this setup. AHI is around 2 for last one year.
I changed the pressure setting 9 to 14. Now the 90% pressure is 14. AHI is around 2 but I get aeropahgia (air swallowing ).
Should I just go back to my comfort Jones 9 to 11? Any advise?
Thanks.

Re: APAP pressure advise
is there a reason that you are changing your pressure? Seems the change didn't do anything for the AHI so I would put it back to where it was.
I wish you well...

Are you monitoring your data with software.......like Sleepyhead? It doesn't sound like it.chimebell wrote:Hi,

If you're going to run ranges of pressure, you need software to find out what's going on during the time you're sleeping.
You need to see WHY the pressures are hitting your maximum pressures......most likely it's Flow Limitations or Snores.
My advice is to get some software and study the reports. Then you'll know the answers.

Re: APAP pressure advise
There are 2 issues here.
You seem to be hitting your max pressure setting, so you may need more. At the risk of suffering a little more you should set your range to 9 - 20 and see where the pressure settles at.
As others have indicated this is much easier to evaluate when you examine your data in detail.
The second issue is how to help you keep from swallowing air at higher pressures. If you do a search you should be able to come up with discussions on this.
Once you find your optimal pressure, you can then evaluate if the reduction in AHI (if there is any) is worth trying to deal with swallowing air.
Keep in mind that an AHI of 2 is less than 5, but it is also more than 0.
