CMS50F, Sleepyhead, and plethysomogram waves

Post by Thatgirl » Thu Dec 17, 2015 2:23 pm

Hi everyone-

I have a CMS50F pulse oximeter I've been using periodically and importing to Sleepyhead to monitor my therapy, in addition to the cpap info. I notice in the Sleepyhead importer, it says if you connect and record directly on the computer, you'll also get the plethysomogram waves. I would like to try that, but my CMS50F only has one USB port on it- where the finger probe is plugged in. To upload it, I unplug that and plug in the USB cable. Does anyone know if using a mini-USB splitter and having one go to the finger probe and one go to the computer will work, or if that will screw anything up? On a related note- anyone know where such a cable could be found?

I don't mind if you ignore my question, but what do you expect to do with the information from your pulse-oximeter?

I have other lung issues besides apnea, and I'm wondering if I ever desat outside of apneic episodes, particularly when ill with colds and such.

You likely need the original old style CMS50F oximeter. It has both a probe connector and a USB port.
I have hooked mine up in the way described and viewed the graphs in real time.
