Minute Vent / Tidal Volume Question

Post by cAtLeYx » Sat Dec 12, 2015 2:53 am

Hi All, I've been on CPAP therapy for nearly four weeks now and am feely real benefits. I feel clear headed, wake before my 06.30am alarm clock and feel refreshed all day.
I was originally reviewing my AHI every morning via SleepyHeads hoping that my AHI would be really low, (psychologically I though this would determine how I felt). I have over the last couple of weeks realised the AHI is irrelevant and that how I was feely during the day was important.

On reviewing SleepyHeads this morning, first time in a while, I noted the Minute Vent & Tidal Volume sections were higher than previously. Is higher better or worse, what does is actually mean in real terms.

The high values are artifact and should be ignored. Look at the mean values which are stable.

That being said, artifact is usually caused by jumping around (poor sleep continuity). So if you've got a lot of artifact, lay off the meth at bedtime.
