Cheap Cpap with data

Post by detonateme » Thu Dec 10, 2015 2:57 pm

Ok so I am wholly overwhelmed with the amount of choices in machines. I have a functioning cpap machine but it doe snot offer data capabilities and I am concerned I may still be having apneas during the night. I am still tired most days despite using my machine all night (6.5 to 7 hours). Just need a cheap machine capable of detecting this for troubleshooting purposes. I bought one with my insurance earlier this year and asked the KID at the DME store if it had data and she of course said yes and an app you can use. Well come to find out it only logs for insurance compliance and not a darn bit of data I can actually use. Any help here will be greatly appreciated......nodding off....

Which machine do you have now? Brand and model?
You might be able to find just a blower unit to use with your humidifier and save some money that way.

My wife is new to the cpap world. I tried to tell her to get the resmed air sense 10 for her but her doctor told her to take the Phillips dreamstation. Is this a good model or a brick?
Thx

I depends on which model.
Do you have model name or number available? Respironics makes one model DreamStation machine that isn't a full efficacy data machine.
I am not up to speed on the model numbers right off the top of my head.
If it has apap (auto adjusting mode) then it for sure is a full data machine. If it only has fixed cpap pressure mode available it may or may not be full data.

This one is NOT a full data machine...model DSX200S11..it's a brick and only gathers hours of use

These 2 are full efficacy data models.

If you're not part of the solution you're just scumming up the bottom of the beaker!

Get the Clinicians manual here : http://apneaboard.com/adjust-cpap-press ... tup-manual

I'd spend a fifty to a hundred dollars more and get an auto... then you are covered if your pressure requirements go up during the night (REM, sleep positions, congestion, whatever).

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.
