Centrals vs hypopneas vs obstructive

Post by Toonces » Thu Dec 10, 2015 12:57 pm

...So I have more centrals and hypopneas than I do obstructive...can too high a pressure cause central Apneas and hypopneas? I just got results of a sleep study and it showed 2 Apneas per hour - 1 OSA, 5 centrals and 5 hypopneas...what causes the centrals and hypopneas? Also notes that centrals were post arousal...does that mean I'm waking up n then having a central...or that the central is causing the wake up? Does any of this make sense?

That doesn't add up. Can you elaborate?

Can you post a copy of the summary of your study? It's usually one or two pages. Block out any identifying information such as name and address.

From you other post it looks like this was from a titration study. Is that correct?

That is excellent CPAP therapy. Nothing there to worry about.

The only caveat would be about leak. If mask leak is very high, you might have apneas that the machine can't detect.
