To start making adjustments to my machine pressures. Can someone direct me to explanation of how to do it?
Thanks.

How are you going to know what changes..if any...need to be made?
What is your pressure now? What makes you think you need changes? What changes do you want to make? What is your AHI?

Machine set at 4 - 20. This morning AHI at 5.27. Numerous people told me I should up the minimum. Charts indicate that apnea is occurring without pressure rise kicking in early enough. Furthermore, at that low pressure I cannot locate leaks while I"m awake to test mask properly.

You need to clinical manual. I don 't have your model, but someone else probably does.

Apneaboard.com - scroll right down (I think it's on the 2nd pg) to wherever clinician manuals are listed and carefully find your own machine model (I stress that because there are many models). You can find yours by first emptying the humidifier, turning the machine over and looking for a 3 letter 'Ref' #. If it doesn't apply to your machine, see what you can find on yours (or in your paperwork) that identifies it.

Clinical/provider manual for the AirSense machines can be found here.

So that covers the how to change the pressure. As to what to change it to...don't know. Not enough information. Don't know the AHI breakdown and if the AHI is primarily central in nature a pressure change is unlikely to help and could potentially make things worse. People shouldn't go changing things until they understand what they are seeing on their reports and have a plan of attack. Know what you are trying to fix and make sure that what you are wanting to fix is fixable with a pressure increase.

Re: OK, I'm Ready
I had my manual at least a month before my machine arrived at the DME's.
I had memorized the relevant parts, and sat down in their office,
putting my new toy through its paces. One of the RT's asked "if I could do all this,
what were they needed for?" I reassured them that not everyone can or wants to do this.
{{{but I wonder why not}}}
