Question for Airsense 10 AutoSet For Her Users

Post by Fresh_air » Thu Oct 29, 2015 2:45 pm

I am a 35 y/o male who likely suffers from OSA. While I am waiting for insurance to approve a sleep study, I am doing as much research as I can, reading these forums and watching videos on Youtube channels (The Cpap Shop, TheLankyLefty27). From the knowledge I have gathered, it appears that the best machine to request is the Resmed Airsense 10 AutoSet. But I realize the "For Her" model includes an additional Auto PAP mode that uses a different algorithm. For those who own the "For Her" model, have you tried both Auto modes to compare them in comfort level and viewed the nightly results displayed in SleepyHead to compare their effectiveness? I am trying to figure out if the "For Her" algorithm is really worth having or if it is something I probably wouldn't use. Even though the machines cost the same, I am guessing that I may have resistance from my insurance to reimburse a "For Her" model for a male patient. I care more about performance than aesthetics, but I will say that I do prefer the black color and the blue background on the LCD screen.

I use the A10 for Her on regular Auto mode and am happy enough with that not to change. It's good to have the option but evidently no one reading this has experimented it and analyzed their experience in SH.

They're not likely to care. Most Insurance companies pay by HPCPS code and the code for CPAP/APAP is E0601 regardless of brand, name, or bells and whistles.
