Do you want to get better?

Would you rather just sit and complain?

Dan... ! know you mean well... I really do! However, the fact that I've come to realize is that Enchanter has difficulty answering questions such as the ones you ask. No, I have no idea why... it's just the way it is. May I suggest with all due respect that you don't hammer him with questions he has already been asked and doesn't choose to respond to.

If people are getting exhausted by this attitude and I understand that possibility, please go to another thread. This was suggested by Robysue several months ago, along with others who asked the same thing.

PS The questions you asked were very good ones!

Hi Enhander---

"Why can't I just let them do it? That's what they get paid for."

This is not true. They are paid to do what their owners want, not what you want, which is why you have to be after them for the results.

Good luck

Just got a call back from the doctors. She says that it turns out the lab has not reviewed the results yet. So the manager of the lab was incorrect when he told me that they sent in the results last week. People, stop saying I'm not taking action.

I just don't know how to sleep easily. It's been like that for 8 years. I no longer take Seroquel, which is a med that used to knock me out fast. There's really no medication I can take that will help me sleep without adverse side effects. It's as simple as that.

Now I do get to sleep somehow, but I don't sleep well. I usually fall asleep around 5 am and wake up around noon. I usually cannot fall asleep sooner. With the mask, it's even much more difficult. I will either not sleep 48 hours or I will wake up after 2 hours of wearing it. It's just that simple.

Yes, I do understand . I think your in a difficult situation. I wonder what happened 8 years ago that changed your sleep routine. Do you have any idea ? Sometimes a clear understanding of the past provides a window to what we see, feel, experience now. I'm not a sleep expert. I think I understand how it works for me, though. I don't feel that Cpap helps me to fall asleep. I trust it to give me help and therapy while sleeping.

In your case, if your unable to fall asleep until 5am with or without Cpap . First of all, it's not your fault. Your very smart and articulate. Do you have any ideas about why your not sleeping? Thanks for replying to me. I do wish you well! Dan

Dan. I probably do have some problems that make me unable to sleep and at times I'm not sure any doctors would be able to help.

So basically it took me about 6 months just to go from 25 mg of Seroquel to 0 mg. It was a hard med for me and caused a lot of adverse side effects. Now keep in mind this is many years ago. But the problem was that the less Seroquel I took, the more impossible sleep seemed to become. I took tryptophan. It worked for a week. Melatonin. Worked for a week. Camomile tea. Same. So there is a pattern here. These things work for a while, but it's just hard for me to just go to sleep. My brain adapts to whatever supplement it is and then needs something else.

I do know Seroquel would knock me out. But then all the adverse side effects would come back and I wouldn't be able to get off it. It almost caused me to feel suicidal because my brain became dependent on the med. I was on Seroquel for 7 years and I needed that med every single night or else it would be like not getting cocaine or some hard drug. Very hard. Even though it's been many years since I've been on that drug, the one thing I don't do as well without it is to get to sleep.

But you're not in a wheelchair and I'm not telling you to run. I'm just suggesting that you need to stop taking no for an answer and take some responsibility for your treatment and stop looking for short cuts and ways out.

I had the same problems with the sleep clinic hours, but I figured it out. I had problems with my DME not giving me enough variety in the mask sizes. I got nowhere on the phone so I went to their office and sat there until someone finally helped me, if only to get rid of me.

Sure, it sucks and maybe it seems easier for other people, but usually you don't know the whole story about their challenges. Have you ever heard that saying about The only perfect people are those you don't really know yet? It's true. Don't compare your insides to other people's outsides. It's difficult for all of us in different ways. That's just how life is. Or, it may even be true that life is totally unfair and the world is conspiring against you, but what can you do about it? You can complain and get nowhere, or you can step up and do what you have to do to get it done.

You don't have to pressure your doctors or the lab if you don't want to, but you can't then come here and complain about lack of movement if you're not doing your part. Right? If you want to hurry the process along, you've got to be a really squeaky wheel. If not, then just wait until they figure it out.

One of the ladies from the lab just called me and said that the reviewer was in the Emergency room and then the hospital for a week.

How am I not taking initiative? I'm doing what I can. What else can I do? Go find him at the hospital while he's in bed and force him to do my test? Yea...

Julie, how is Enc ever to trust anyone of us in here ever again. When you post a private message with him. For the whole world to see. I don't know what you were thinking. Dan

Here's a comment that YOU made several pages ago in this very thread (way back on page five).
Julie wrote:To all concerned - I have just (in response to PMs) told Enchanter to get a referral to a sleep specialist from the GP he'll be seeing in a few days for titration results because his insomnia of long standing is a separate issue from Cpap. His response was expected, not at all responsive to what I suggested, and was over-the-top a dramatic and foolish statement about his situation, so I said I could no longer participate in this endless story.
And all these pages later, you're *still* at it.

Looking for some validation now for your utter frustration? Do yourself (and everyone else) a favor and just STOP ALREADY. (Good luck with that.)

Oh, and posting a PM is a really shitty thing to do. P means PRIVATE.
