In another thread (viewtopic.php?f=1&t=106214) is a discussion about not being able to use my ResMed Mirage Activa LT Nasal Mask after Cataract Surgery.
That problem brought up again (at least for me) the benefit of having more than 1 type of mask just in case.
In 11-13, I tried the ResMed Nano
In 2-14, I tried the ResMed P10
In 5-14, I tried the ResMed N10
All three trails were a failure because I just could not control the leaking in all of the above 3 masks because of how the headgear connects to the mask. A 4 prong connection like that in my ResMed Mirage Activa LT Nasal Mask seems to be the only thing that will work for me in controlling leaking.
Has ResMed since changed / improved the headgear on any or all of the Nano, P10, & N10?
I looked at the pictures on the cpap.com website, but since I still have only the Nano to compare, I don't remember what the Headgear configuration was for the P10 & N10.

Re: ResMed Nano, N10, & P10
There have been no changes to the headgear for any of the above mentioned masks that I am aware of.
The Nano uses the same headgear as the Swift FX and I just got a new headgear for it and it is the same as it always has been.
Same thing with the P10...just got a new one a couple of weeks ago and it is unchanged.
I have never seen the N10 but I doubt it has changed. ResMed normally doesn't make much in the way of changes to headgear unless maybe they add a different size like for the full face masks. There's been no mention of it anyway.

Re: ResMed Nano, N10, & P10
Thanks for your input.
The headgear of the N10 seems to be the closest to the headgear of my current ResMed Mirage Activa LT Nasal Mask - although it is certainly not as robust.
The reason I was not able to control the leaks when I did my previous trials was that the headgears did not have enough points of connection & therefore they were not as easy to adjust to my pointed head.

What did the cataract surgery change? Are you getting air in your eyes? I remember you are the one who got me onto the LT, and I have tried lots since, with no success. Maybe we can help you love the LT again?

Sorry if I misled anyone into thinking that I now no longer like the ResMed Mirage Activa LT Nasal Mask.herefishy wrote:What did the cataract surgery change? Are you getting air in your eyes? I still DO like it & expect to use it long into the future after this Cataract Surgery saga is over.
After the Cataract Surgery in my left eye, I was given a plastic eye shield that I must wear when sleeping (night, naps, etc.).
The Activa LT is too large to use in conjunction with the eye shield (it overlaps the eye shield).
That put pressure on the eye shield which then transfers to pressure on the eye.
After Cataract Surgery, pressure on the eye is to be avoided as that is probably the worst thing you could do.
I was to use the eye shield for "at least" 5 nights.
I used it for 8 nights through Wednesday night.
So, last night, I slept withOUT the eye shield for the 1st time.
I was going to try the ResMed "Nano" that I had trialed in December 2013
That trial ended in failure because I could not control the leaking.
But, I was going to give it another try since it is smaller & would keep the most distance from my eye.
But, when I put it on, the side strap came just too close to my left eye.
Yes, it was on the side, & I don't think that would put any pressure on my left eye.
Then, I put on my Activa LT while looking in the mirror.
Although it's cushion is higher up on the nose, the distance from the left eye was acceptable and the side strap was much further away from my left eye.
I also use a Chinstrap (the 3" wide White one) for mouth leaking, but decided to forego that also.
Instead, I taped horizontally.
Even with the taping, my leaks were horrendous (as much as 58 for quite a while) & thus I really cannot rely on the statistics my S9 AutoSet showed.
Even very small leaks usually wake me up.
But I was never awakened by these leaks, so I am assuming they were coming out of the 2 ends of the tape & shooting out away from me.
But, sleeping with a mask (even one leaking that much) was so much more restful than me sleeping without a mask at all.
I will do the same thing tonight, but will lengthen the horizontal tape out more.
I see my ophthalmologist on Monday & I believe he will be OK with me adding back my chinstrap.
Then, I have to do this all over again when he does the 2nd eye.
Even with all of the problems that exist (only because I am on APAP), I can already see quite a difference in my eyesight in just the 9 days since my Cataract Surgery.
In fact, I am to the point where I plan on removing the left lens out of my Rx distance eyeglasses because I can now see better out of that eye withOUT any correction than I can with the correction.
Besides the cataracts, I had astigmatism in both eyes.
Astigmatism also causes blurriness in your vision.
Getting rid of the cataract blurriness AND the astigmatism blurriness had done wonders for me.
The "Toric" lens I had implanted is expected to allow me to NOT use eyeglasses at all for distance vision.
It is expected that I will need only non Rx "Reading" glasses for close-up vision.
But, my continued improvement in the left eye may lead to me not even needing those "Reading" glasses.
Only time will tell AFTER I have also had the right eye done.
