The latest (well, it's not available yet)

Post by BleepingBeauty » Sat Jun 06, 2015 1:29 pm

FYI

A friend sent me this link. The inventor is looking for donations (or will be soon) to get it off the ground. Why he's taking the crowdfunding route instead of appealing to an investor, like on Shark Tank, is beyond me; perhaps it's a total scam that wouldn't stand up to a potential investor's questions.

Interesting concept, but I have no idea how well (or not) it would work. I think I'll stick with my corded and humidified ASV, tyvm.

There's more info in the FAQ on the site.

Veni, vidi, Velcro. I came, I saw, I stuck around.

Dx 11/07: AHI 107, central apnea, Cheyne Stokes respiration, moderate-severe O2 desats. (Simple OSA would be too easy. ;))

PR S1 ASV 950, DreamWear mask, F&P 150 humidifier, O2 @ 2L.

This is, I believe the fifth, or sixth thread about this fantasy.
It would be nice, but this one smells like a scam.

I saw it on I think the 6/1 notation on the cpap and SA news link on top of the forum page. Just about laughed so hard I almost fell off my chair.
In all fairness, it just shows how much people would love to be free of the hoses and machines.
Morbius, are you bored?

It would be a bit funny, except for all the poor suckers getting "hosed". (And not in a good way)

Common sense would dictate that if everyone seems to need a fairly big and heavy battery to run a CPAP while camping, even a small portable unit like the Transcend (there's a million threads on this forum), then what size would the battery have to be in this matchbook size unit to tamp down one's OSA? A certain air resistance pressure has to be met and that take electrical power. And even if it achieved adequate pressure, what's to keep it rocketing out of your nares without a headstrap attached and putting someone's eye out Common sense, folks.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

Thanks. Yeah, I'd never seen or heard of it before; that's what I get for taking care of sick parents and not paying attention to the forum for a few months... But that's over now, and I'll get back to normal soon.

I keep thinking this doo-dad is closer to a Provent than a cpap.
No way tiny batteries can run a blower, but operating a valve--maybe.
Not an ideal or comfortable solution for most of us.

You may be right, CF... I didn't even think of the Provent twist. Of course why would you need an electrically powered valve when the Provent achieves that with simple mechanical systems? The mystery deepens
