Weinmann (prisma or somnobala VS resmed (airsense 10 or S9)
Weinmann (prisma or somnobala VS resmed (airsense 10 or S9)
Hello friends,
I don't leave in US not in Europe, and I am thinking of getting new Automatic cpap machine (APAP).
My options are:
Resmed S9
Resmed 10 airsense
Weinmann somnobalance e
Weinmann prisma
Do they perform the same? because algoritm might be a little different, so does the quality of the component.
By the way I live in a hot weather country so most of the year I won't need a heating system, although I am willing to buy a humidifier/heating system if it won't consume too much of maintanance and cleaning.
What would you choose and why?
Any help would be appreciated!

We're not really familiar here with the Weinman but the Airsense 10 is supposed to be excellent... see it on Cpap.com.

I've heard that the weinmann machines are nice, and the company was very happy to work with jedimark on sleepyhead, so he didn't have to guess, and reverse engineer their data.Mickg wrote:Hello friends,

Re: Weinmann (prisma or somnobala VS resmed (airsense 10 or S9)
Thanks for the answers, I have hear that airsense 10 is produced in malaysia, it might be the same quality, unfortunetly it is hard to find any data about any product's algoritm, I would probably stick with weinmann as it was recommended by local seller in my country (unless I will read another usefull comment that'll change my mind)
Thanks for your answers!

Does the current 0.9.8-1 version of SleepyHead work with the Weinmann machines? It's not on the list on the sleepfiles.com page.palerider wrote:I've heard that the weinmann machines are nice, and the company was very happy to work with jedimark on sleepyhead, so he didn't have to guess, and reverse engineer their data.
If you get the Weinmann machine, please feed us information about how it works, etc. On this board, we're mostly familiar with ResMed and Philips Respironics, so you may get less help here with the Weinmann.
ResMed's quality is excellent, no matter where it's made.Mickg wrote:Thanks for the answers, I have hear that airsense 10 is produced in malaysia, it might be the same quality, unfortunetly it is hard to find any data about any product's algoritm, I would probably stick with weinmann as it was recommended by local seller in my country (unless I will read another usefull comment that'll change my mind)

I had looked at data on Weinmann masks, and have wished they were available here.

So, do you know the answer or not? Does SleepyHead work with the Weinmann machines? Jedimark doesn't include it in his list of supported machines.palerider wrote:as I said.archangle wrote:Does the current 0.9.8-1 version of SleepyHead work with the Weinmann machines? Re: Weinmann (prisma or somnobala VS resmed (airsense 10 or S9)
OK, according to jedimark, the author, "You can even play with Weinmann SOMNOsoft / Balance CPAP data, although it's not complete yet. " viewtopic.php?&t=101108
So sounds like SH doesn't work fully with Weinmann data.
This makes the Weinmann seem much less attractive to me. Having good access to the data is really important in my opinion.

Re: Weinmann (prisma or somnobala VS resmed (airsense 10 or S9)
Hello everyone,
I am updating about my mom's experience with 2 cpap machines: Weinmann somnobalance e and devilbiss .
Second thing, I forgot to mention the she has been using and still does, 9 year old cpap (apap to be accurate) names "Resmed C-flex".
So:
Her experience was horrible, she couldn't sleep single day with non of these machine, as she felt like there was lack of air and she couldn't breath properly on both of them as devilbiss was making noise that seems to be created by the blower.
We tried to change pressure ranges to see if it will effect her breathing, it didn't help.
We were offered to try "isleep", "Apex" and "phillips" and I am thinking to try S9.
Honestly, I am thinking to try Phillips or S9, because I heard they both providing exhalation pressure relief.
* please take it into account that this is her OWN experience, so IDK how other people might feel.

The lack of air feeling with automatic machines only happens when they are left on factory default settings.
This is a cruel trick they pull to discourage the sale of these machines.
Get the manual and set it yourself--PROPERLY!
