I've searched the archives but I haven't seen anything posted about this. Does anyone else have a dry red mark on the nose from the (full face) mask? What do you use to keep this from happening, or what do you apply after it happens to alleviate it?
Thanks,
Mike

You didn't say how new the mask was, but........did you thoroughly clean the mask before using it?michaeldwilson wrote:I've searched the archives but I haven't seen anything posted about this. If they're not adequately cleaned they are likely to do that.
Other than that, the possibilities are.......
Wrong adjustments
Wrong size
Wrong mask

Re: Red mark in the bridge of my nose
I developed a soar on the middle of my nose from my first nasal mask. I tried different nasal masks and tried lanolin and other ointments.
Sorry for my answer... but I never found a solution to this problem other than switching to a nasal pillow mask.

Re: Red mark in the bridge of my nose
A few options that I can offer; others may chime in with other options. You could try Gecko pads or mask liners... go to http://www.padacheek.com or http://www.remzzz.com. Mask liners help with several problems; for me they keep the leaks under control as well as eliminating the irritation that caused the red marks. I did not have a mark on the bridge of my nose, but I did have marks on my cheeks from the straps, and strap covers available from the first link above solved the problem. I tried both liners from the links, and both helped, but the RemZzzs were more comfortable for me. I've now started making my own.
Some people use lansinoh or something for red marks... hopefully someone will check in with more info for you. Before I ordered the pad-a-cheek straps, I was using cortisone cream during the day but it didn't solve the problem as I still got red marks every day and it took until noon for them to disappear. I wanted something that would prevent the irritation.

Thanks everyone for the great info. I do wash the mask every night with baby shampoo, as the sleep therapist instructed. I rinse it well but I'll try rinsing it even more thoroughly. It's not too tight I don't think. Any looser and I feel air escaping.library lady wrote:A few options that I can offer; others may chime in with other options. I'm going to try the remzzz liners. The video makes them look like exactly what I need, but a dollar a day for them is pretty expensive. What do you use to make your own, Library Lady?
Thanks!
