Cleaning of CPAP parts
I have never not once in 7 years cleaned my tubing. I just buy new hoses every so often. Im not exactly sure on how necessary it is or how to do it. I do take apart my mask once a week and clean it. I do not have a set time to change the filter either... I guess whenever I remember to check it through out the year and decide its pretty bad.

Re: Cleaning of CPAP parts
Maybe you have enhanced your immunity by giving it plenty of practice!
The idea is not totally nuts!
The filter is more to protect your machine than you, since night air is usually the same air you get in the daytime.
Keep a clean filter to help your blower last.
