Chapel Hill Killer

Post by Hang Fire » Thu Feb 12, 2015 7:33 am

Look at the narrow, recessed chin and all the fat under his neck. I would bet my life savings he has untreated obstructive sleep apnea and it is an underlying cause of his anger problems.

It would certainly be an interesting defense. My money goes to the guy having an untreated mental illness of some kind. Anger is one thing. His ex-wife divorced him for repeated instances of mental cruelty. Does sleep deprivation take anger over the edge to cruelty?

A hateful nature is a manifestation of a troubled soul. It sounds like he had issues in that regard.

You are jumping to a conclusion that fits your personal bias. If you look at his FB page, he claims to be an atheist who favors equal rights for all. His wife and ex-wife confirmed this, but also said he was an angry kook.

Here is his FB avatar:

and here is his FB cover:

He may have a lot more in common with you than with religious people.

Too many "religious" people are religious on the surface only,
while using their religion to support their own goals and hatred.
Millions find comfort where a few seek power and wealth.
These few soil the word "religion".

I don't know why you insert that. The killer is not a "religious" person. He is an atheist.

The killer was an anti-theist, which is a step beyond atheist. However, according to everyone, wife, ex-wife, neighbors, he was an equal opportunity asshole to everyone. I don't think his lack of faith had anything to do with this.

If there were not so much open abuse of religion,
perhaps atheism and "anti-theism" would not become so attractive to angry people.
I am in no way supporting this maniac's actions, but we all start out "normal", until something snaps.
Bullying, rampant rudeness, childhood abuse, and terrorism are all disturbing enough to be a trigger.
We expect our faith to be a positive thing, a comfort; but too often this is subverted.
We are told to hate the sin, not the sinner. Nothing happens in a vacuum.

That's just not true. Plenty of newborns come into the world with "messed up hardwire" in their brains.

as soon as I read a scientific report of newborns going on killing rampages, I'll believe you.

reports in sensational 'news' magazines/papers do not count.

That's a bold statement to make. I think the evidence is that angry people tend toward being more religious, more dogmatic in their faith, not less.

lmao

An angry, avowed atheist murders three people and you start talking about religious people are more angry.
His Facebook Likes included the Huffington Post, Rachel Maddow, the Southern Poverty Law Center, Freedom from Religion Foundation, Bill Nye “The Science Guy,” Neil deGrasse Tyson, Gay Marriage groups and similar progressive pages.

Hicks is a vehement atheist, according to his Facebook page, where he frequently posts anti-religion musings.

Hicks frequently posted quotes of prominent comedians and atheists, including the prominent British atheist, professor and author Richard Dawkins.
