Sleepyhead on Windows and Mac concurrently
I normally run Sleepyhead and check my data just fine on my Windows 7 machine. I've finally got my Mac Mini unpacked and setup and tried to run Sleepyhead but it crashes if I try to import data. Does anyone know if Windows formats the card so that it can't then be viewed on a Mac without being wiped and run anew? Does this even make sense as I'm not the most technologically literate person and not sure what/if I'm doing something wrong.

It's just started saying there is more than one lockfile open and that I cannot download card data. Then it crashes

Re: Sleepyhead on Windows and Mac concurrently
I don't use a Mac so not much help but what is the operating system on the Mac mini? That information might be helpful to a Mac user trying to help you.

Good question. It hasn't been updated in several years so it's updating now to the latest version of OSX. Will try Skeepyhead again with the updated system.

Re: Sleepyhead on Windows and Mac concurrently
Yep, updating my OS did the trick. It still says the lockfile is open for the first profile I made so I made a new profile and it is working fine now. Figured it was something on my end. Thanks, Pugsy!

or you can just have it delete the lockfile caused when SH aborted.KatyDidAgain wrote:Yep, updating my OS did the trick. It still says the lockfile is open for the first profile I made so I made a new profile and it is working fine now. Figured it was something on my end. Thanks, Pugsy!

Well, yeah, if I knew where to find it. I'm just glad I got SH working.

doesn't SH offer to do that if you're sure you don't have another copy running? as many times as it aborted while I was testing the new version with Jedimark, I don't remember ever having to go hunt down a lockfile.

Re: Sleepyhead on Windows and Mac concurrently

This is what I see. I have rebooted so I don't see how I could still have another copy running.

Re: Sleepyhead on Windows and Mac concurrently
I don't know about where SleepyHead puts the profiles in a Mac but in Windows it puts a SleepyHead folder in MyDocuments and all we have to do is go into that folder and find the folder with Profiles in it and manually delete the unwanted profile.

I hadn't noticed it... (and you're probably going to do a facepalm like I did when it was pointed out) but the location of the sleepyhead folder is right there on the bottom of the screenshotPugsy wrote:I don't know about where SleepyHead puts the profiles in a Mac but in Windows it puts a SleepyHead folder in MyDocuments and all we have to do is go into that folder and find the folder with Profiles in it and manually delete the unwanted profile.
also, I think all that would have been necessary was to click on the OPEN one, and tell it to go ahead and open it.... instead of making a second one.

Re: Sleepyhead on Windows and Mac concurrently
Actually I did notice that little path but I was unsure if it meant the same thing as my Windows version does. I thought to myself that maybe it was something simple like that.....but seems like lately I haven't been so lucky with "simple"palerider wrote:I hadn't noticed it... Figured wouldn't hurt to mention the Windows path anyway...just in case someone else might need it.

I'm not sure when mark snuck that bit in, but I did go "well, durr" when I noticed it... no more telling people to go look on the 'about' page *lol*.
