My Nuance Pro headgear is starting to get a little rough. The "sticky" material on the back-of-head strap is starting to fray a little bit, and the velcro at the temples isn't holding as well as I'd like. It's definitely still in usable shape for now, but insurance won't authorize replacement for another three months and I'm concerned about it lasting that long. Any tips for rehabbing it? Anything I could be doing differently to keep it in good shape for the future? I'm also thinking of going online and picking up a spare outside of my DME just in case - is CPAP.com the best place to do that or is there somewhere better?
Thanks again!

Mask parts like the head gear are sold on sites like Ebay and Amazon. CPAP.com is very good when it comes to complete mask systems, but you may want to compare prices for parts and pieces.

I'm not familiar with that mask, but, is it necessary to open the velcro every time you put it on? I use the Quattro and never open the velcro...even when I occasionally wash the straps.

Re: Keeping headgear in shape
Yes and no. I don't have to un/velcro it to put on or remove the mask, but the material gets stretched out by enough that I need to adjust the straps on a regular basis. (My large cranium probably doesn't help.) Last night, I didn't need to adjust them at all. Sometimes I have to adjust them multiple times. Washing it in hot water and letting it dry seems to shrink it back, so I guess a solution would be to wash it every day or two and leave the velcro fastened...LSAT wrote:I'm not familiar with that mask, but, is it necessary to open the velcro every time you put it on?
