Full Face Mask

Post by K9MP » Mon Feb 09, 2015 1:54 pm

Hi everyone, I am new to this forum and am not sure what equipment I will be using as they are ordering it for me. When I went to the sleep study, I used a full face mask, and the next day, the bridge of my nose was hurting. It still hurts today and this was two days ago. Is there a Full Face Mask that people recommend? I was researching the Airfit, but I have no idea about masks, as I stated I am new to the CPAP world. I am a side sleeper.

Go to Cpap.com and look at all the different models... there are pix, and details and reviews, etc., and if you see something(s) he thinks might be better, come back and ask about them here.

If you require a full face mask, take a look also at hybrid full face masks that use nasal pillows instead of a mask to cover the nose, while also providing mouth coverage. That can solve the sore bridge of the nose problem as well as air blowing into eyes. I don't have personal experience with hybrids, but if they are interesting to you, say something, and plenty of members will offer an opinion.

Sorry to read about your issues. I use the Zzz-Mask Full Face CPAP Mask by Probasics. I like that it does not have the forehead support, and more then anything else I like the price. Compared the price to Resmed masks this mask is half price, and the replacement cushions are about half also. The mask works well for me, but every one is different.

I would strongly recommend you consider a mask liner. This helps keeps leak down, and also more comfortable then the mask on your skin.

I wish you well...

They should have a variety to choose from and you should also be able to specify something else.......and see if they can get it.
Don't just feel like you have to take what's handed to you. Do some research and be knowledgeable about what's going on and don't let them think you're a "sheep" to be herded to what they want to sell and make the most profit from.
Same thing with the machine. Don't let them hand you a non-data-capable machine. Make sure it's fully data-capable.
