Initial observation, Respironics vs. ResMed
Other than the machines being sort of like comparing apples to kumquats...(PRS1 60 series Auto vs. S9 VPAP Auto), I will say that the S9 has a smoother feel to the pressure changes (probably due to the more advanced unit), as well as I like the way it goes after events with a little pressure boost, instead of a couple pulses. And the vibratory wiggle it does to check what TYPE of event...somehow, that makes me giggle. Not sure WHY, though. To date, my AHI has been pretty consistently low. Like under 2, and most of the time I can pull under 1.0. Last night was around 9 hours on the S9 of actual sleep (not including the hour or so I spent putzing and puttering to figure out the choices), and I had an AHI of .19. Considering how many times I THOUGHT I woke up due to having my mouth open...not bad. Even the large leaks I had during the night weren't enough to screw things up.
I'm also a dork when I see something shiny. And the S9 has the "Ooooooh, SHI-NYYYY!!" factor over the PRS1. Plus a color screen. And a nifty light in the water tank. And...and...well...so many CHOICES to make!!
Looks like I will have to inform my company to not expect info to come across on the PRS1 modem in pretty short order. I may be hooked.

I told you so...I told you so.
Though to be honest...you probably would still be smiling if you had tried the PR S1 BiPap but maybe not quite as much.
I went from a PR S1 APAP to the PR S1 BiPap first..long before I got my first S9 VPAP and I was smiling just changing to the BiPap.
Welcome to the ResMed Snob Club.

Re: Initial observation, Respironics vs. ResMed
I read your posts to my wife and she said "I want to try one "
So I set up a 660 for her for tonight .
This is a major brake throught for her, but I have not convinced her to use a chin strap or tape yet .

If you're not part of the solution you're just scumming up the bottom of the beaker!

Wow...well hot damn and hallelujah! I can be a good influence on someone for once! I very much appreciate the machine, ghost. Thanks for providing exactly what you promised (again).
Pugsy, I think you and PR are in cahoots. He loves telling me "I told you so" whenever possible.

I think he's holding back...that way, he's always got something new and exciting. If he gives up the really good stuff now, what's to look forward to later? Or hold over her head for blackmail?palerider wrote:trying not to spoil her with the good stuff?grayghost4 wrote:you didn't tell her that the 660 isn't a resmed, did you?
