I've been using CPAP for 3 weeks now and was given the wisp nasal mask (no other choice) by the DME. Since I no longer breathe thru my mouth, I'd like to try nasal pillows and was wondering about the P10 for her vs the nuance pro or nuance pillows. Would like input on the mask as well as the comfort of the headgear. The wisp headgear is too big for me despite adjusting, slips and rides up on my ears and I find the silicone sides uncomfortable.
Thanks!

Re: Help changing to nasal pillows
I've had the best experiences with the AirFit P10 (if the headgear works for you) and the Swift FX of the nasal pillow masks. The Swift FX is a little heavier and a little noisier, but has adjustable headgear. I'd say that if you can get the P10 to work for you, then go that way. Otherwise, the Swift FX is my mask of choice currently. I tried the Nuance (pro and not), TAP PAP, Aloha, etc., and the two nasal pillow masks, the FX and P10, were the ones that worked best for me.
I worked with the P10 for several months, and really liked the quietness and lightness and low impact of it. On the other hand, I never really got the headgear to work for me. Also, the lack of a swivel joint for the joint between the nasal pillows and the air tubing didn't work well for me. I'm an active side sleeper, so I need a mask that can take a lot of movement...the swivel joint on the FX helps for me, and I noticed the lack of that on the P10. It was hard to give up on the P10, but I've gone back to the FX and am doing fine with it.
You can get either of these masks with free return insurance from cpap.com, I believe, so you can try either or both of them out for 30 days and see which one works for you.

Re: Help changing to nasal pillows
I have both the P10 and the Nuance Pro. I like both but will probably not get the Pro model of the Nuance again. I don't like the "jello" feel of the silicon face straps on the headgear. I think I'd much prefer a fabric feel. Of course, this opinion is based on not having tried the Nuance fabric headgear. Both the P10 and Nuance are light, quite, and comfortable. The P10 has solid ribs in the cheek area, inside the fabric headgear. The ribs can cause the pillows to shift when lying on your side but that is easily adjusted.
I don't think you can go wrong with either one.

Re: Help changing to nasal pillows
Try the P10 first. It is the latest generation lightest mask out there. I am very happy with its performance and minimalist design and quietest venting of every other mask out there.
And splitting the headgear (as in the videos on youtube for P10 fitting) do work to make the fit loose or tight. It may not seem intuitive when you look at it first but it works when you use it and adjust it by splitting the headgear on top of the head.

Re: Help changing to nasal pillows
I tried the p10. It was OKAY, IMO. The headgear is adjustable, kind of. But I find the swift FX for her is MUCH more so. And the pillows on the FX are soft all around. If I remember correctly, the front part of the p10 pillow is hard plastic. While that is NOT the part that fits against the skin, it bothered me. Venting on the FX is a strong straight breeze, while the p10 diffuses far better. I found both to be quiet, p10 a bit quieter of the two.
