Downloading Sleepyhead

Post by jonc123 » Mon Feb 02, 2015 8:23 pm

My computer died and I need to download sleepyhead again. Which is the best place with the latest version? I have 64 bit Windows 7.

http://sleepfiles.com/SH/

or

http://sourceforge.net/projects/sleepyhead/

Also, wherever I download it from, do I need the 7zip? If so what is the exact web address, I found a few different ones, don't want to download crap.

thanks,

Jon

This is the latest http://sleepfiles.com/SH/index.html?TestingVersions and there is a link for 7zip on that page. Remember that you have to unzip then extract to another file before you can open.

I downloaded from one of the links listed from Pugsy I believe? I have the Rescac 5.7 software, does it require a card reader? The AirCurve 10 VAuto only has a SD card. I just got the 64 bit version and 7Z from your link, may try it again tomorrow. If the 5.7 Rescan is better I can use it.

I posted this in the other thread you were using. Which site did you download from? I've heard of problems with Sourceforce but not the direct site of http://sleepfiles.com/SH/index.html?TestingVersions . Or was it the 7zip download?
I don't use Rescan but the only reason you would need a card reader is if your computer doesn't have a built in SD reader and most do now days.

I am pretty sure that all links I might be posting for SleepyHead are directed towards sleepfiles.com and not sourceforge.
Unless there's a link in the tutorials that I missed.
In my signature....I removed sourceforge link a long time ago.

I'm pretty sure I got my source from you so I did'nt think that was the download problem. Was trying to figure out where he picked up his junk files. Also not sure if he gave up on Sleepyhead and only wants to use Rescan now.

Actually I'm just looking for the best monitoring software for this machine. I've had the Respironics previously and purchased the software from cpap.com and eventually upgraded until they stopped selling it and upgrading. I still have it. I started using the read only that I got from Restedgal. I like to monitor my sleep occasionally. So far I've been using Resmed.com/myair. This machine is wireless and uses my Internet connection to send in data. But it doesn't have the graphs etc. Seems I've been having mask leaks. I don't think the mask is leaking rather I am breathing through my mouth too. Guess I need a full face mask. Was reading about the Resmed Quadra Pro I believe it is. Whichever has to be comfortable. I've been inhaling from these machines since 1998 I think. I thought it was 2003 but think my sleep test was 1998 now.

Sleepyhead will give you the most detail. If you use the sleepfiles site and download the 7zip from that page it should be ok. After downloading use the 7zip to unzip. Then extract the files into a new folder and from the new folder you have two options to open. Try the OpenGL first and if your video card works with it it will open, if not use the BrokenGL. Now it was at this point that I had a missing Windows file ( I don't rember the file ) but I had to download this Windows file. http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download ... x?id=40784 Hopefully that will get you up and running.

http://sleepfiles.com/SH/index.html?TestingVersions

When I go to the site above ^^ it looks like the newest version is 0.9.6 from from 6/30/2014 (down in the blue box). Is this the correct version I should download? Towards the top of the page it just says no downloads available.

Also, I am not seeing the link for the 7zip...

And I get this when I go to the link you used...just tried it and why you don't see what I see is a mystery but if it is any consolation you aren't the first to have this happen to.
7 zip link I sort of circled at the bottom.

Try this again
http://sleepfiles.com/SH/index.html?TestingVersions
and if you still don't see what I see tell me what you need and I will figure out a way to get it to you.
I have this 0.9.8-1 version stored in my own dropbox files but when I used it when first released I found it was missing a file and had to go get that file from Microsoft separately...Mark had forgot to include it and I don't know if he put it back in the new copy on the download page after he realized what had happened.
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/978 ... -64bit.zip
I am using Windows 7 64 bit computer....I think this copy was made with regular Windows zipping feature and 7 zip isn't needed.
This is my own personal dropbox online storage and there are no bad bugs in it.

7 zip can be found here which is where the link above that you can't see would take you to.
http://www.7-zip.org/
I had no bad bugs come with my 7 zip install..

Good morning hoseheads, er...sleepheads. I just reloaded the Sleephead software. What I found was when loading the 7Zip file, that's when to be careful. It will also load a file taplika which takes over. It changes your browser window to theirs and ads spyware on the computer. It changes your search engine too, to Taplika. It in effect it is a virus/spyware. You can uncheck and refuse it but I'm sure many don't and that can be a problem removing it later. It also slows down the computer with ads, etc. Just to let everyone know, be careful loading files and if you see the one Taplika, avoid it like a plague. Hope this may help others.

You got the file from a source other than the Sleepfiles.com linked in my signature. http://sleepfiles.com/SH/index.html?TestingVersions

Get the files from the source, and you will have the latest program without unwanted malware. The 7zip files should come from 7zip.org rather than Soundforge.

Where did you download 7Zip from? did the download page look like:

Image

There should not be any spyware in those downloads.
Current Settings PS 4.0 over 10.6-18.0 (cmH2O) - Resmed S9 VPAP Auto w/h5i Humidifier - Quattro Air FFM
TNET Sleep Resource Pages - CPAP Machine Database
Put your equip in your Signature - SleepyHead v1.0.0-beta-1

I have it now and up and running. The original file kept having problems finding and opening it and kept referring me to windows file to open it which was also the 7Zip. I downloaded it again and it must have been the one with the taplika files it in as it asks to load them by default. You have to go to advanced, uncheck them and decline to avoid loading the spyware/virus program taplika which takes over a computer and changes everything to taplika. Thanks and others should know and avoid this in the future.
