cpap mask liners

Post by Danone » Mon Feb 02, 2015 6:38 am

I am a new user (4 Months) and am having trouble with mask leakage and red and sore areas around the nose. I would like to make my own face b]mask liners because the ones on Amazon are to expensive. Can anyone give me some tips on how to do this

I found a "DIY mask liner pattern" online and use it to make my own from cotton t-shirts. I don't have a link handy, but you could find it by googling what's in the parentheses and printing it. At the time I didn't have any old t-shirts handy, but I found one at a thrift store for about $3... there's still a bunch of it left to make more when the ones I'm using wear out. I wear each just one night, then put in a mesh wash bag to put them in with the laundry.

Now using AirFit F10 mask; Quattro Air is backup mask. RemZzzz mask liners with both.

I used a "home made" liner at first too - until I discovered http://www.padacheek.com, whose liners I wouldn't live without, and the cost of which seems well worth it to me because they can be washed over and over and last for a really long time (like up to a year) before I find the need to replace them.

But, back to how to make a hand made one - I found the best "template" was my mask itself. Just take the mask cushion itself out of your mask and lay it on the tshirt you'll be cutting up and trace around the outside of your mask cushion with a marker or pen. The lift up your mask cushion and use some scissors to cut along the outline - viola, you've got a home made mask liner! Don't forget to cut a medium sized hole in the middle big enough for your nose to fit through - if you've looked at the ones for sale on amazon (I'm assuming ones like at remzzzs.com) then at least you've seen roughly how they should look when you are done cutting

Good luck with this and I hope this helps. Keep posting your issues here as you go along - you'll always find someone with some helpful advise - at least that has been my experience.
