Roaring loud humidifier

Gary, I have a couple more questions about the photos you posted.
1. How did you remove the dry tank from the humidifier, that you're holding in your hand? I have been trying to get it out and it doesn't want to budge.
2. What are those wires behind the dry tank? I do not have those.

As to question 1, lift the lid to the humidifier til it clicks and then slide the tank out the front if the unit (edited post caffeination, *derp*) Can't advise on Q2 but there ARE several here who can...

My guess is that the wires are for the heated hose. Does yours have the heated hose?

That's called the "dry box."

There's a little tab on the bottom back outside of the humidifier that releases it. You can work it with a screwdriver, but it takes very little force. If you're applying the pressure in the right direction and pulling the right way on the dry box, it will slide right out.

As has been posted above. The wires are for the heated tube. The dry box is retained by a catch on the rear of the humidifier. I use my fingertip to pull down on the catch while using my other hand to pull the dry box out.

Thanks all, do the wires come with the heated tube? I am contacting my DME to get the gasket that is missing. (PR told me they could not supply it, and cpap.com charges $22 for the entire tank, which is not bad, but I only need the gasket.) Should they also send me the wires in case I ever get a heated tube?
Something about wires near water attached to my face isn't too appealing.

Thanks, now I see it. So mysterious... but, I tried this and could not get it to move. I will hand it over to the Better Half.

The DME will probably have to give you a new humidifier .... when they do ask for one with a heated hose .

when you order the heated hose kit it comes with a new cover with the wires attached and the heated hose ... the cover will just pop off if you exert a little force or reach inside and release the two catches on the lid.

Which model System One machine are we talking about here?
Your profile shows a 50 series machine and you can't make a 50 series humidifier into a heated hose humidifier. That upgrade kit won't work with a 50 series machine.
And a 60 series humidifier won't work with a 50 series blower either. So just getting a totally new humidifier that is already heated hose capable (special lid and power supply and heated hose is needed) won't make a 50 series blower work with a 60 series humidifier.

Now if your profile is incorrect and you do have a 60 series blower then yeah...there are ways to upgrade the humidifier.

If it is just one of those gaskets that is need I think those can be bought separately from cpap.com.
I have a pair but I think they are for the older M series machine but let me check to make sure. If they will work I would be happy to mail them to you. I need to go find them and check the part number and see if they match this

Hi Pugsy, thank you so much. It must be a 50 since it doesn't have those wires or any opening for them. I examined my machines and do not see 50 or 60 marked on them. Bottom of the humidifier says:
REMstar Heated humidifier
REF 1056215. The SN ends in A087.
If you have the gasket I would love it. PM me if you do find one and I'll send my address. I can trade you a bunch of small & large pillows if you need them.

I am pretty sure that you have a 50 series machine and thus a 50 series humidifier.
The humidifier ref number REF 1056215 seems to point to a 50 series humidifier...to confirm look on the bottom of the blower unit for a 3 digit number which may have DS, REF or P in front or behind it.
The second 2 digit denotes the model series...example the machine you have chosen right now is a model 450 and the x50 means a 50 series machine...if it had 550..it would be a different model but still in the 50 series.

To have 60 series equipment and thus be able to upgrade to a heated hose the model number for the blower until would have to be something like 460 or 560...

If you have a 50 series blower unit then you have to have a 50 series humidifier and we can't make it into a heated hose capable humidifier. I just wanted to warn you about that little detail before you went out and spent a bunch of money on converting that humidifier. Should you need or want a heated hose you need to either buy a stand alone heated hose like the Hybernite or Aussie heated hose. Beyond that you would need a totally new blower unit and new humidifier to get a heated hose capable machine.

I am sorry but the gaskets I have won't fit your humidifier at all. They are for the older Legacy series machines...if someone wants them they can have them...I sure don't need or want them. Would be nice to package them in something else though....it's going to cost more to mail them than they are worth.

Thanks for checking, Pugsy. Great tip about the shipping. I will report back when I receive a gasket, or blow a gasket, whichever comes first. I'm sure this will solve the jet engine problem.
