See also, the Oracle oral mask, which works, but dries out your mouth something awful.

Seems odd that a ResMed VP would spam us and masquerade as a 'papper.... I assume CPAPTalk tracks us by IP address, and if ResMed uses DHCP on their network (very likely), another user could have ended up with the VP's former IP address. Or perhaps someone used his machine? Very odd....

Also, the Swift FX is on the international ResMed site, and it says this mask is only available in Europe. The new "gel" mask is only available in the US. Very odd they release certain masks to specific regions and not others!

So far, the LT has been my favorite mask, but it does have two glaring flaws: the exhaust blows almost straight ahead (so I try to sleep constantly facing away from my wife), and the design is particularly prone to condensation in the barrel. Even my heated hose doesn't quite prevent rain-out if I turn up the humidifier past a certain level (the exact level depends on external weather conditions). If I learn that the FX addresses these problem areas, and the smaller barrel might indeed resolve the second issue, I'll grab one ASAP. I notice that Resmed is offering Pad-a-cheek type padding with the XT, although I'd be stunned if it matched Karen's quality.

The offer the padding for the LT as well. You can find it on the cpap.com website. It's adequate for my needs. It is not, however, the amount of padding as what you get with the padacheek product.

Unlikely that it's the IP address that's being tracked. Very few of us have fixed IP addresses. Each time you connect to your internet service provider, you get a new address from a long list that are owned by the internet provider. I've not checked to verify this but it's more likely that it's a cookie on your computer that reports your identity. Can anyone verify this?

So what's the consensus? Is Gil.Ben-Dov really an executive with Resmed or did he fake his identity as such?
I'm workin' on it.

That one looks like a giant step backwards. Order the older ones now, while they last.

Another info sheet, this one gives a pretty good view of the headgear. I'm actually quite interested in this if they will begin to sell it in the U.S. I've done quite well with the LT and this looks like it may put less pressure on the upper lip, which is the one minor issue I have now.

OK, last one for tonight, this one shows the various parts in an exploded view.

Hmm. With that exploded view, I can see there's no longer a rotating barrel for adjusting the angle of the pillows. Too bad. I need that rotation to make the pillows fit properly. ...And since ResMed clearly doesn't care enough to correct their pillow quality problem, I use the barrel even more to stop the flimsy pillows from leaking!

Resmed's nat'l mkt share with their existing pillows masks (swift ii,LT) is very high---65%? not sure saying that its a 'failing area' is accurate there stud. they have set the bar in pillows in my mind.

"sroo" also posted as "gil.ben.dov".

And Gil Ben Dov "Gil Ben-Dov Vice-President Commercial Operations , ResMed Corp.
9001 Spectrum Center Blvd, San Diego, CA 92123 " is Resmed's hired gun for the internet.

He last appeared here, under his own name was on this thread:

Two posts down from Gil's comment, I wrote:

"Thank you for participating on this message board, Gil.
You mention recently revised Internet Policies. I wonder... is it now possible for someone who lives in Canda and who has a CPAP prescription to order a ResMed CPAP machine online from cpap.com and have cpap.com ship the machine to the buyer in Canada?
"

The thread has grown to nine pages now. If Gil Ben-Dov answered my question, I must have missed it.

Or perhaps he missed my question?

Sir, you filled out an equipment profile when you registered on this board. Do you actually have OSA yourself?
Still waiting for those answers...
