does anyone know if there is a mask or pillow that sends the air out the top of the head

There are a few that vent at the top of the head

Respironics DreamWear.....they have both an under the nose cushion model as well as a nasal pillow version very similar to your gel Nuance nasal pillows.

Also want to mention the ResMed AirFit P10 nasal pillow mask. While it vents in the normal front near nose position the venting holes are very diffused so the air stream vented isn't very strong at all. When I used it I had to have my hand about an inch from the vent holes and then only barely felt the air.

The problem with venting most of the time isn't the direction of the venting going directly to the eyes but the fact that the air stream bounces off something and then redirects back into the eyes. With the P10 diffused venting there really isn't much chance of any bounce back.

I am unsure of your problem with the software...exactly what is telling you that you need an adapter?
Do you have a slot in your computer for SD cards?
If you don't have a slot then you do need an adapter and make use of one of the USB ports to read the SD card.

GREAT info. This helps. I hope to get this new mask very soon. The bounce back makes sense. I'll have to sleep on my back until I get the new mask.

I do have a port on my PC for the SD card. I can see the content with dates for info, but it won't let me open it without a reader. Anyway, I'll follow the steps provided in the link you listed and see if it's workable that way with Oscar. Thank you so much!

Question on the Oscar installation. I have downloaded it on my PC, but the instructions talk about importing data from Sleepyhead, which I do not have. All I have are on the SD card.

This is the mask I currently have. I like it, but there is a small amount of air that comes from the front just below the pillows. It's faint, but it's enough to cause my eyes issues.

Don't worry about the sleepyhead step. Once you have it installed, star the application, insert your SD card int the computer and click on the SD icon.

Yeah....I did that. It's still not working. I'm going to uninstall and then start over in the morning. Thanks though. That helps.

Great news! I was able to get Oscar installed properly and successfully obtained my data. I'm not exactly sure how to interpret it, but it looks really good. I'll try to post it around here somewhere for some input. I'll have to figure out how to do that. But, my AHI last night was 0.46, which is a little higher than I expected. No leaks, no issues. At least that's how I'm reading it.

Managing the mask AND my eye goggles is a pain though....I have to figure this out. For the price I paid for the goggles, they should be better. They are specialty goggles, designed for nightwear.

Oh, did I mention that I'm a Type I diabetic and also wear an insulin pump AND continuous glucose monitor! lol I swear, you gotta laugh or cry, right?

Don't forget. There's a file size limit for attachments. Can't exceed 1 MB.

Well....I just returned to therapy about a week ago, after a long pause due to severe eye issues, surgeries, couldn’t wear goggles, etc. plus, I had lost a lot of weight on purpose, and my hypopnea was always mild. But, I’ve had sleep disturbance lately, waking up at 3:00 a.m. can’t get back to sleep and feeling very sleepy in the day, which is not me. I’m normally wide awake in the day. So, I considered thyroid( which I take meds for),depression/anxiety (which I may have due to a boatload of personal issues and losing some friends and family members due to covid or cancer) or vitamin deficiency. Or, maybe, needing cpap. I pulled out my machine, for which I had brand new supplies in package and started off where I left off. Great sleep first night.

A week later....I feel maybe 40% better. But, at least when I see my doctor, I’ll know I am getting good restorative rest. She can test my blood accordingly.

I’m going to give it another week and see how I feel. I am sleeping better than before. Oh, the only time i am aware that I wake up is when my CGM vibrates and notifies me of something, like blood sugar alert.

I take levothyroxine, zetia, vitamin D, fish oil, cranberry pills, and Novolog insulin by pump.

I’ll continue with cpap though. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.
